How early?

Never mind selling earplugs, perhaps reception should stock catheters.

I have been on sites when there has been early movement like this. Just turned over and gone back to sleep. What's the problem?

At Alderstead Heath, Redhill CMC site, the barriers lock between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. I think it's the same at other club sites too, such as Gatwick and Northbrook Farm, Worthing.

Great idea, I'm on it, discounted prices obviously.

Hi
In response to the op. On our site, we have a large five bar gate that we close (not lock) between 8 pm and 8am. It's really just a bit of visual security as we have issues with the local boy racers etc. We ask if you go out and return when the gate is closed that you just close it behind you. the system works pretty well and most folk understand why we do it.
To date after three years at this site we've only experienced single figures each year of people that leave before seven am. We understand that members on site are there to relax and enjoy their time and if we know of people leaving early doors we'll politely remind them to regard their neighbours and if possible get them to pitch the night before near the exit. Every site is different on the network, ours is in west Cornwall so we expect some folk to leave for a long journey.
As there are no present rules regarding departures, I think a little respect and a bit of live and let live would do the trick?

Yes, I think it's the standard for all club sites that have barriers, that the barriers lock between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. However, not all club sites have barriers. Some sites such as Cheltenham Racecourse have no barriers. Other sites require card entry but automatic exit, like Northbrook Farm, whilst others require card entry as well as card exit, like Alderstead Heath.

I know what you mean, David. We take our awning down and then re-erect it on another site every 21 nights!
Packing always takes ages, especially as all the awning furniture has to be packed and put away and then re-assembled at the next site, plus the canvas, poles etc. It's a lot of work! Then packing away everything in the caravan, ready for travel. Then setting it all up again at the next site, knowing that after another 21 nights, the whole process has to be repeated!

Do you have to move the caravan off a seasonal pitch, thought it was only the occupants that have to vacate the pitch, if so then surly it would be a lot less stress and heavy work for your wife and yourself to stay at a cheap B&B for 2 nights.

I think I did read in the T&C's that you had to remove the awning. However, a few years ago we spent 2 weeks at Leyburn and there were certainly unoccupied seasonal left with full awnings attached. One right next to us. It is a managed site though, so perhaps they have a more flexible policy. Or it could be because it's in a quarry and fairly sheltered.

If people are leaving so early it sounds as though there will be room for newcomers to come in early too - instead of queuing for the 12noon deadline. Has that ever been suggested?

I agree, when on site I consider it leisure time so being disturbed by slamming car doors, people shouting (even if you think you are talking at that time in the morning to your neighbours you are shouting) and my biggest bug bear rolling your aqua roll along before 9.00am should not be allowed.
My husband and I still work full time so our time away is very precious and we try to get as much of it as possible, late check outs if possible so short of an emergency which I would hope would be a rarity we would never look to be moving before 12 noon
Sign of the times I feel people seem to have less and less respect for other people and are happy to disregard upsetting anyone else

You get em banned, Dawn.
