I don't fancy finding a site gate locked at 11pm.  Why, the pub has only just closed then and there is drinking-up time to go, and the chip shop on the way back as well !

So how do you manage to keep to the Club policy of  normally vacating your pitch by 12 noon or are you always able to arrange for a later departure time?

Your last sentence is an interesting comment.

We are normally away by 1200hrs, but unless it is a very popular site with a high turnover then it is normally not a problem useing what are the rules to enable a later departure

I am hoping that Windym has his tongue firmly stuck in his cheek  otherwise I pity the poor bloke ! I agree that 6am is very early to be leaving a site, but we did this one Saturday from the Tintagel site after being woken at 4am by gale force winds rattling the omnivent cover frown And you would not believe how many units were parked up waiting to get in (but thats another topic ).

What about folks who have to work away from home & use the caravan as a base ? They may have to leave early to get to work, as incredibly not all CAMC members are retired !

Perhaps when the wardens hand over the toilet block/barrier key they should ask " would sir like earplugs with that " wink

PS: I always carry the empty wastemaster back to the van, unless I can pull it on grass innocent

Been at Chester for the last week .Having had to take the diabetic dogs down to the dog walk at 6.30 am this last few days I couldn't help noticing that the site was busier that at 12.00 noon! Several cars were at the gate waiting to pick up or picking up people from the site. Three cars came back on site each morning I am guessing coming back from work and one even started to erect an awning at 6.30 am. I should add that none of this disturbed me in any way and if these workers and their outfits were not on site it would be even emptier. I think this illustrates two things one that without the "workers" sites would be even less viable in Winter Sunday to Friday and two in general additional capacity is only needed at weekends in Winter and therefore keeping more sites open all year is probably not financially viable. Should add that the site is only about a third full.

That's right, cariadon, you can leave the caravan on the pitch and go away yourselves for two nights. We usually prefer to take the caravan with us though!

She does most of it but it is one job she can't do entirely on her own! I have to help her with the poles and threading the awning through the channel.

We did once leave early when staying on the Cirencester site at 06:30 a.m. We hoped that at that time of the morning there would be less traffic making the journey quicker and easier!
