P&O Concessionary units
i have been given some P&O Concessionary units which allow a discount on P&O ferry prices. Only got them in November 2017 and having trouble getting P & O to recognise they have been transferred but once this gets resolved does anyone else use these? I am being told the discount only applies to premier and premier plus bookings which means that it will still be dearer than what I could book it for (saver or standard fare) even with the discount applied. There seems to be confusion with whoever I speak to at P&O so would be good to hear experience of someone who has actually booked using the Concessionary units.

I've got the concession from the old "600 shares" days. It used to be 50% off Dover and 40% off western routes but only applicable to primary vehicle and passengers, caravans, cabins, reclining seats were all full price. Like AD, I haven't used it for years.

I booked Hull to Zeebrugge yesterday and I have the 600 units which used to be 600 shares. I have no idea what the standard fare should be without holding any units. My fare cost £501. This was for a Premier outside cabin; all meals; two dogs and my Honda CR-V. Caravan is stored in France.
I checked the cost of Portsmouth to Caen, with a cabin, and it was more expensive then Hull to Zeebrugge, and did not include any meals.
I live in south west Lancashire and used Via Michelin to check distances from home to the Charente. According to Via Michelin it is just two miles more from home via Hull than it is via Portsmouth.
I prefer to drive through Belgium and France than travel on the M6.

The Stockholder discount pamphlets are only sent out in March which is too late if you like to get organised early.
Like Robbie41 I booked my place last week including cabins and Brasserie meals.
I live in Cheshire and the thought of a trek down the M6/M40/M25 is a big put-off! The alternative of a two hour trip on the M62 is a more attractive option. You also can add the fuel cost to a channel crossing.
I can certainly see that anyone living in the southern areas could get a better deal and I have used that route when heading to the south of France.
This year is Paris year, so from Zeebrugge its an easy trip.

I gave up trying to use the concessionairy units in the end and booked Hull to Zeebrugge through the CAMC. Because they had been transferred to me late in 2017 P&O had no record of them being in my name but they did work out what it would cost me using someone else’s allocation and it was considerably more than what I could book through the CAMC though it would have given me more flexibility around dates etc
