Club rallies abroad...

I can't find anything dedicated to these, but I was told the CAMC holds rallies in various countries abroad.
I'm currently in Spain, can anyone advise where the info for these rallies is please?

Rallies abroad are few and far between with the CAMC, but the Camping and Caravanning clubs holds lots of rallies abroad.  Check their website for details.

Not strictly true Biggarmac. The Clubs' Centres run summer holiday rallies, that is if there are volunteers to organise them. Try searching the Centre rallies >here<. However I do agree that in the winter there is only the C&CC who run very big rallies in Portugal and Spain.

There's a thread on here about someone on a rally at Marjal - which is going on at the moment.  Is this not a C&MC rally?

Probably worth the joining fee, which you can save on channel crossings, site fees etc. Their winter rallies are very good. We went on three last year and we’re back again this year.

If you're looking for rallies run by local centres you'll find them in the lists in the membership section. Unfortunately it's not possible to search under a place name but click on "local centres and events" and "overseas rallies" and you'll start to see them as the details get added for 2018. Try looking in your local centre too.

The C&CC Rally at Marjal a few weeks looked very well attended. We have just spent 8 night at the very large but amazing site. Not everyone cup of tea but the cleanliness of all facilities, ease of access and size of the pitches were second to none.

By the way anyone know where you can buy the matting long-term caravaners use to seal their pitches from the gravel used on many Spanish sites?

You can buy that matting in garden centres or very often in an on site shop.

Or as we did - a sale at Carrefour... we bought 2 pieces (each 2.5 x 5 mtrs) for 10 euro each. Ours is actually garden windbreak... but it's lasted for 2 years so far (a total of about 20 weeks on the ground) and still looks good.  Fix it in place with 4-inch nails and 'penny' washers from your local ferreteria.....job done cool
