Good posts, GC, but perhaps you’d tell the rest of us what on Earth you’re talking about?

I was pointing out in, perhaps, a somewhat convoluted way that talking in code is a bit self defeating.
Why all the tweeting stuff? It’s confusing as is talking about PCD without explaining. How much better it would have been if the OP had said he wanted to, say, change the wheels on his van but couldn’t work out which replacements would fit. Someone may have had the exact answer.

Some people simply cannot understand why others (you) find it necessary to make comments such as that.

Must be a Jeep owners sense of humour lornalou
All I wanted to know is what is the PCD (pitch circle diameter) of my late model Sprite/Swift wheels. There was two choices,
122mm
Or 112mm
it's not just a question of just measuring across the studs.
I am going to make ( see over engineer) a pair of winter wheels, and to save a bit of head scratching I just thought I'd throw the question out there. And again tried to inject some humour into my posts but obviously not very well received.

There’s a difference between humour and causing confusion.
It’s not a great idea to put people down when you’re asking for advice or help - something I’ve given you plenty of in the past.

I really dont understand how you got confused by reading the inital post?
It is as clear as day!

And where in any of my posts have I put you down TW ???

As I said earlier, measure between the centre of two studs/holes (assuming its not in storage miles away from home)
If its a 5 stud wheel then divide that figure by 0.5878 to get the PCD and if its a 4 stud wheel then divide the figure by 0.7071.

You put down all of us by implication, GC.
As tor clarity in your posts, if you cannot see the lack of it, there’s nothing I can say.

What an interesting but unusual thread. A member asks a straightforward question and the thread is taken, by the thread spoilers, in the usual direction which most threads go on this forum.
Sorry GC I personally don't have the answer to your question, but I do hope that somebody will help you.
No wonder so many posters give up and find other forums.

I’m a welcomer with a long memory for thread spoilers and trolls.

How is that not clear ???
Is the PCD,
112mm or 122mm ???

OK, I was going to leave it be but since you want to make an issue of it, why do you assume people on this forum understand PCD? This is not a technical or engineering based forum and it could be said that it’s rather arrogant and rude to talk about something others may not understand without clearly explaining what it is.
Then there was all the tweeting which left several of us wondering if you’d lost the plot.
See what I mean? It’s talking in code rather than being clear.

If I was given a figure for PCD by someone who did not know for what the abbreviation stood, I would not trust their information.

I would hope not!
However, that is a different point.

Then I apologise, I assumed that if someone knew the answer to the question, they would know what P.C.D meant.
But If I had to explain what P.C.D is, then the good folk that didn't know wouldn't have the answer I was looking for would they????
Don't worry about it, its no big deal,

And no its not a technical forum but I know, because I have seen the posts that there are some very, very clued up engineers from all walk of life on here. And they are more than willing to share their expertise.
If my posts offended, that wasn't my intention.
