not for you, i take it.....Happy

ive seen a few reviews and had a look at the Oct NEC show last year...

they are 'fairly' new to motorhomes but have been stalwarts in the horsebox industry....

their USP seems to be slide out technology.

id say they would feel pretty basic (compared to your van) and a bit more utilitarian than, say, swift/bailey....i felt they were a bit cheap inside...

payloads have to be watched on the 3.5t models, that slideout weighs a bit.

not for me, but they are making inroads and are reasonably priced, an interesting alternative but the slideouts also scupper large external storage areas, from memory, although the 'G' model has a garage...watch that weight....

    just a couple of points....

this is a big MH yet is only equipped with a Combi 4e heater....i would have expected at least a Combi 6e or possibly ALDE at £90k....

the other point is that, at that price level, there is an awful lot of serious quality opposition....mainly from the Continent, but these may not be your cuppa...

however, no mention of double floors or inboard tanks (for proper winterisation), all 'de rigeur' on most vans of this price....

i guess the moving slide outs add cost (and weight) and even technical issues (with plumbing, heating and electrics) that need to be overcome..

worth a look but id make it a close look to check the spec and depth of 'hidden quality' carefully...

an interesting van, good luck with the investigation.

If you are seriously interested I suggest you search the web for reviews of Equitrek horseboxes, made by the same firm.  I know someone who has had repeated issues with paintwork, and have seen other comments about poor quality and after sales. The Mototrek appears to be a horsebox without the horse area at the rear.

They do look interesting, must admit, but BB has hit the nail on the head regarding taking an in depth look. There are reviews of various models online, some really good features, some not so good. Local to us, we keep meaning to go and have a browse. Heritage is definitely equine and motor sports based.

That's a shame I was just looking at the panel van EB model and really liked that layout.

Has anyone seen this layout elsewhere?

I remembered seeing a thread about Moto Trek on MHF....

It's old and lengthy, but probably worth a read if you are a prospective purchaser....

Catherine, this van is on the XLWB chassis at 6.36m long which wpuld be a roomy van...IMHO the nearest layout is from IH with their 630 FL (front lounge) model....however, starting prices are around £15k more at  £61k, so not cheap...

the 600 FL is 6m long but almost as roomy, is £6k cheaper, mainly because it has the normal rear barn doors as opposed to a one piece custom rear end.

also many a small/slim coachbuilt with front lounge and rear washroom, some at 6m or thereabouts..

    good luck.

    Hi

If you're interested in an outfit with slide outs, look how the slide is extended and retracted. The cheapest method is via a wire cable system, there are lots about but in my opinion there's a lot to go wrong. As has been mentioned weight is a big issue so small lightweight motors may have been used along with a lighter and weaker slide out box. Only my opinion but there are as BB states better alternatives.

As an RV owner, and having removed, rebuilt and reinstalled a slide out (never again!) I'd be wary of something that has poor feedback from the public.

    Cheers

I would only buy a motorhome built on a Mercedes with a proper auto box but that is my preference.  Many people seem happy to change gear which seems dd in the world of today.

We looked at Moto Trek a couple of years ago and we’re very impressed with the quality.

However. My husband wanted to know what you did if the slide-out mechanism failed and we were told that that information was given on a need to know basis, I.e. they wouldn’t tell you unless/until it failed.

We then did some on line research and the reviews of the company’s after sales wasn’t good. The waiting time for a new van was 9 months but it seemed you were very lucky if you got it that soon.

There’s a 2016 Moto Trek on the pitch next to us at the moment on its second owner, which makes you wonder.

We were due to pick-up our Moto-Trek EB from Becks motorhomes on April 2nd(2020) but because of the Governmemnts restrictions they had to close.

However, the 2016 model we are buying is a 'van conversion, It has an unusual layout with an L shaped loung seating and a L shaped kitchen. The washroom is er!! compact and bijou and has a bench toilet. The wardrobe is also in here. There is a window in the back panel.(not obscured)

Outside is a nice silver grey finish. The back of the 'van is a single fibreglass panel with a hatch at the bottom with some storage.

This more modern model won the campervan award at the NEC this year.

The MMM  of January 2016 has a "First Test" of this model on page121.

We bought it because of the layout and the quality of the costruction and materials used
