Thanks for the advice all. We only have a 40 litre on board tank so think a collapsible container and a trolley will do the job. We'll be staying mostly at race tracks so hope to avoid the perils of waste disposal at club sites being discussed!

absolutely right, TW...
With the manhole covers, you either remove them (it) first while you have a bit of room (and risk driving into it....) or wait until aligned and then risk a back injury in trying to lift it with half your MH overhanging it..
it couldnt be made more difficult if someone sat down and tried...
its obvious that no one from 'the sites team' has ever tried to empty grey water from a MH (uk or continental....it makes no difference)....
in fact, i havent joined in the '5 changes thread' (just happy reading theninteresting responses) but this would be on my list.....

Get your girlfriend to try lifting one of the manhole covers
You have not met her yet. She is more of a tea-pot cover girlt!

So where does the waste go at a racetrack then? And are these not Club sites anymore?

Cannot speak for ALL 'tracks Navigateur but Wincanton had a pretty normal "Hole in the Ground" with a DGB manhole cover.
Sadly tho' Wincanton is no longer on our Club Site List.
{ P.S. DGB ==> Dirty Great Big -- a term applied to many engineers in my area by our lovely but tiny Clerical Assistant }

I seem to remember both Uttoxeter and Warwick not being easy to use.

I suspect that the OP may be following motorsports or something similar. Could be wrong though.......

Funny how so many of these threads get dragged off topic by people’s pet hates on Club sites. Quite clearly the OP doesn’t use Club sites and the collapsible carrier seems a good option. 40 litres is quite small for a fresh water tank and if you’re using the shower etc. the water will require regular top-up.
I think I would park close to a tap and take a long flat hose with me.

Stayed on lots of Racecourse sites, in fact prefer them to be honest. Wincanton is a sad loss. Never been to likes of Donnington Park, Mallory etc.... so not sure of what goes on there
Waste points are not a pet hate, we cope fine anywhere with a hosepipe and a bucket, but others may prefer/require something different. Club Site options are not usually the easiest, either in terms of location or manual handling requirements.

My thoughts as well brue, rather than staying on horse racing courses. Hopefully OP can tell us a bit more, lots of folks stay at motor racing events.

We used to use the Trax sites, Hexham, Wetherby etc... Hexham still has a nice campsite, both vans and tents. Women's facilities were ok, but men's were not so good.
