I doubt it, it's just that the Club doesn't trade in Euros!
At least not on its UK sites. Not even for charging for dogs.....0 -

Ken, they also realise that to do anything to harm the trade brought by dog owning members will be shooting themselves in the foot.
Oh, and I’ve nothing against the Euro or those who use them as long as it’s in the right place and relevant.

That's odd, because we stayed at on of the commercial sites most often praised on here, Ross Park, in June. No charge for dogs, in fact the first thing they did was to give us a Bonio for each of the dogs. And they allow dogs in one of the dining areas. Presumably you mean "some" commercial sites?

Some nice looking sites on there. Although we haven't stayed on any, we do know a few of the Cornish ones. That site at Tavistock looks very nice, we like it around there. Only had a glance at prices.

Also who is say what good practice is? My good practice may not be yours and vice versa of course?

But I thought the case made in similar previous threads was that club sites were overrun with dogs? Some even suggested there were more dogs on site than humans. Now you're saying it's a minority.
I do agree that since the title of this thread is "what changes would you make" folk are quite entitled to suggest changing to a charge for dogs though some of the justifications given seem slightly dubious to me. In particular the "one free then charge" seems ridiculous - I mean are folk with 2 or 3 dogs twice or three times as likely to allow their dogs to foul on pitches or leave them unattended etc? No, that notion is ridiculous - you either charge for dogs to discourage folk with dogs staying or allow them without charge. The club has decided the latter is the more attractive policy.

About 30 independent campsites here in Cornwall alone are now saying no dogs at all. Some of them very highly regarded sites like Padstow Holiday Park, St Ives Bay, and Pentewan Sands - and it doesn't seem to harming their attendance figures. Other very popular sites like Polmanter have a one dog limit. Are things going that way in other counties?

Apologies - I didn't read the last sentence of your post accurately David.
But I would still dispute this notion that club sites are overrun with dogs - there were certainly more at Ross Park last year than on any club site we stayed on.
