Wet morning walk, but drier after lunch. Took Flyte onto the fields by the site then where he had a whale of a time chasing Pheasants!! Boy did he come back dirty, again!! Thanks goodness we've plenty of old towels in the van just for him.

Could have done with the occasional warm, dry towel myself today !!
I went & paid a visit to a couple of my "Friends" just before lunch. Cost me a few Quid plus a tip ( well its still Christmas ain't it ) Got home & after a scrub felt very cold !!
Suppose it's my own fault for saying " If you find my school cap remember its an Antique now" , but she said something about the old ones being the best ones, and carried on SNIPPING away { There's an advert in there !! }. Now I'll have to use a scarf when I visit aged Sister or her old moggy might think its a threat to him as well.
Keep warm & dry you lot, and keep blowing westwards -- don't let that c c c cold weather from the States come here

My wife came with me to do the commute to Worthing yesterday as she wanted to do some shopping. We left here at 15:15 and arrived at the house address at 16:30 to collect our mail. Only four letters had come during the two weeks we were away in Bristol.
We swapped over the Shogun for the Smart car. Then it was time to get to work to start my 17:30 shift. I was 15 minutes early by the time we got to Lancing, so time to get a quick bite to eat, a tuna sandwich from the Co-op. By the time I had finished my sandwich it was time to start work. My wife went to the Lancing Asda to do her shopping as there was not enough time to get her to the Shoreham Tesco Extra. So she just did a small shop of a few things we had run out of, like milk whilst I was at work.
At 20:30, they said I could go home at 21:00 if I wanted instead of having to stay until 22:00. So I was glad to get off early. I collected my wife from Asda. She was at the checkout as I arrived. Groceries then loaded into the boot of the Smart and off we went back to our club site in Redhill.
We got back to our outfit at 22:00, had a drink and some snacks whilst playing a CD on the new CD player that had been fitted by Chipping Sodbury service for free under their warranty. This was followed by dinner and then bed by midnight.

I noticed that the discussion on EV charging has now been closed but also noticed a few more posts after closure about whether CL owners should charge extra for EV charging. My view, for what it's worth, is that they shouldn't charge any extra because a CL that offers EHU charges around £12 a night as opposed to CLs that don't provide EHU at £5 a night. So they already get £7 per night more for providing electric. This is more than enough to cover the cost of charging an EV, especially as other electric appliances are turned off to make power available for the charge.

I never said I was going to Australia. I'm expecting delivery of my new Smart Electric car some time between March and June this year. That is why spending some time reading and posting on the EV thread was part of what I was up to yesterday, hence my above comment on this thread now that the other one is closed.
I think I've had enough holidays, taffyY! I had four weeks holiday in June last year and another two weeks over Christmas and New Year. Six weeks a year holiday is more than enough! Now it's time to get back to work and earn some money!
My wife and I visited Sydney in Australia in 2012 and we enjoyed our stay there then but don't have any plans to visit again.

Cariadon, at the end of the day, I am the consumer. I pays my money and I takes my choice. It is not up to the CL owner but individual caravanners to decide what price they are willing to pay. I am not willing to stay somewhere that says that I should pay extra for charging my EV when the whole idea of switching to electric is to save money. To my mind £84 a week is enough to pay site fees to stay on a CL and is probably costing me more than two thirds of my earnings from Pizza Hut. I would be better off staying on a non EHU CL at £5 a night and using a power generator to get electric if they charge extra for EVs.

Cloudy ,damp and cool here in Kent .Have to dodge the showers today.

As you say it is up to you to decide what you pay per night, BUT it is up to the owner to decide the price per night. If his electricity bill is very high due to the higher demand then he will have to raise the price or it will become unprofitable to continue. Your income has nothing to do with it.

A lovely frosty morning, with blue sky, forecast is for a sunny day this will be a lovely change from the miserable grey. Might take the dog for a lovely walk on the beach, but which one. Living 45 mins from the stunning beaches of Pembrokeshire, Cardiganshire and Carmarthenshire means I am spoilt for choice.

Cariadon, if the price is too high, nobody will stay there. They will find somewhere else to stay that's cheaper. I'm afraid that in this situation, market forces come into play!
Even at £12 a night, I have to pay £884 for a 10 week stay. That's a lot of money already, who would want to pay more than that, I ask you?

Malc ,yes switching to an EV is good to save money, but not at someone else's expense

You may be right Malcolm. However, for many, the difference between paying £14 and paying £16 can easily be accepted if the other site aspects are felt to warrant it; whether that be facilities, location or various other aspects. After all you are spending 3 weeks staying on a site costing more than that at probably around £18 a night. For me, if I was commuting to work regularly, the location would be a great consideration. I would sooner pay £16 for something on the doorstep than £14 for a site meaning an hours commute. How reasonable a fee is depends on a number of factors and not the least of these is location.

Lucky you Cariadon, just a bit jealous. Wish we lived near a beach for dog walking. Enjoy your walk.

It's been frosty but it's very grey and horrible, I'am just wondering whether I can get away with a "duvet" day

I would never choose to stay on a 6 amp CL when I can get 16 amps elsewhere. If you were a CL owner offering only 6 amps, you might find you'll have no customers!

Sorry if I've started something C but it was just a musing. I've stayed on plenty of 6a CLs myself and it seemed like an alternative. I remember a CL owner mentioning it as a possibility when they were faced with increasing electricity usage and bills
In other news we are off for afternoon tea today as we've been given a voucher. Not my favourite thing to do as gluten free options can be grim but I'll get through it
