If he gets 35 or so to the gallon in his tow car around town, he would have to spend about £110 on a trip to Tesco Eastville, just to break even on fuel. Then of couse there is wear and tear, plus at this manic time the high risk of prang, particularly in the car park.

Most dealers, caravan and car, will take a deposit by credit card, but if you asked to pay for the whole thing that way they would make an extra charge as their bank will charge them.

I noticed recently that HMRC are not accepting credit card payments after mid January 2018.

But are you in profit comparing the interest on the spend that took you overdrawn to the  points earned just on that spend?

That is the correct way to look at it.

Rather than go overdrawn, I would put that excess spend on a credit card, I would still get some points and it would cost me nothing in charges.

Anyway.......off to wrap presents and do my dusting!

Our Tesco closes tonight at 10pm, doesn't reopen until 8am Boxing Day. A brief, but welcome hiatus.

    Just a small Christmas wish.......wink

Rather a grey day today, have just filled the slow cooker so I don't have to worry about cooking later and can enjoy all the festivities. All shopping done, if we haven't got it now we'll just have to go without laughing

Big Christmas raffle at our local pub tonight, let's hope I'am lucky, although I did notice one of the prizes was a scooter surprised

Merry Christmas to all on CT.🎄

Hand luggage packed, OH packing the hold luggage.  We're on a teabreak at present 😉. I'm hoping that this will stop the stress and the resultant dreaming! Last night we were running through the scrub and common land in wellies trying to reach the boarding gate as last calls for flight being called 😂😂😂. Why is catching a plane so much more stressful than loading the motorhome and going?

Casserole in, veg prep very soon for today and tomorrow. Only dog walking no shops. Last of washing blowing nicely on the line but grey and mild otherwise.

    Safe trip.smile

I did ice ours but only with fondant this year. Usually buy the ready mix royal, but it seemed to be in short supply and did not fancy making my own with raw egg white, as this would limit who could eat it. Did marzipan first. I always seem to make too much apricot jam / brandy glue. However, the residual was very nice on my toast this morning.😀

Dull and rather damp here. We are doing housework we normally do on Monday.☹️

Have a good and safe trip Bakers2. Nearly time to go - how exciting!! Have a wonderful time in NZ. Please send some sunshine back here. It is a bit grey here in NI today after 2 lovely sunny days. I hope you are successful in the raffle Helen and Trevor, a scooter sounds good fun.😂 Hope your BIL is now well OP. Have a great Christmas on the IOW Trikey.

I am just taking a breather after preparing the sprouts. I didn't entirely escape the Christmas food shop as son and I went to Asda in Downpatrick on Friday afternoon. It wasn't too bad until we got to the drinks aisle which was rammed😅. We went to their neighbours for a bit of a Christmas 'do' yesterday afternoon and then it is everyone here this evening for Christmas carols. 7 year old grandson is practising 'In the Bleak Midwinter' on the piano as we speak and has been for the last hour😲. Oh well back to the chores - carrots, parsnips and potatoes still to go! I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas. 🎄🎁🎂🍷🍸

Grey and dull here this morning with a bit of drizzle. OH however decided he was going to give the car a wash down, so although its now clean its not had the full works.

I had the great pleasure of cleaning the oven, 20 years of having to clean them to 'new' standard living in Army quarters has at least given me the skills in which to do it fairly easy and quickly, though nowadays its clean but not 'new'.

What this afternoon is going to bring who knows, probably a walk if its not too wet. A bit of tidy around, might even prep a few brussels and potatoes for tomorrow. Feeling rather relaxed about it all. Only the 4 of us this year, me and OH my sister and her OH. Will be the smallest Christmas diner I've cooked for since the early days of marriage.

Started some knitting last night, haven't done much for awhile thought a nice warm woolly hat for Mum would be good. A few years ago she started to lose her hair, she still has some but its much thinner than it used to be. Most shop bought hats are way to big for her, she likes to go out into the garden at the home and we sometimes (if its nice) take her for a walk along the river Tay (in a wheel chair) hence the new hat. Boy oh boy is the Arran pattern testing me, have knitted Arran often enough but trying to get my head round this one is challenging. Think I have got the drift of it now having written it down long hand now makes senseundecided

Bakers glad you've got the packing sorted, try and chill a bit now wink MillieH, glad you are having a good time with the family.

Everyone else Have a Great Christmas, eat lots, drink enough but not too much and have a good time.smile

I rushed around this morning, then sat down for quick dinner before starting again. I must be taking it all in my stride as I took my blood  pressure (which I Keep forgetting to do) and it was as normal as ever.

Because I would end up using up all my credit limit and eventually spend on my debit card anyway! So I use my Tesco credit card mainly for non-Tesco spend.
