What are you all up to

They introduced parking ticket machines in the council car parks with us this year too, but we still get 2 hours free, which is plenty.
The supermarket car parks allow 3 hours free and have a little man patrolling them.
So not bad meantime.

I do like to come back to a clean and tidy house. Preferably a clean bed and towels. I know this time it won't be quite like that as some idiots 😂😂 didn't properly think through the dates. Well in May you don't do you 😉? In your head you assume son will go back to partner as previous years, how silly is that? Did blitz clean today and only run vac over needed now will change our bed tomorrow and that's me done. Are all marriages made up of a laid ack one and a planner? Ok read stressor if you like 😂😂.

Gosh our supermarkets allow 90 minutes and carparks charge immediately. We don't use them but l believe they're around £1.50 an hour 😲.
Lakeside about 30 minutes away, don't go there myself, all day free carpark undercover shopping and our town wondering why they'e not pulling in the crowds! Plus rents are high so loads of empty shops 😤

Yes, OH plans and stresses and I am laid back!
We generally change the bed a day or 2 before we go, then leave it airing while we are away. That leaves time to wash before we go. Same with towels.
We did try leaving things for DD to wash, but it did not work.

Would be a riot here if they tried that! The charge is mainly to deter all day parking by the shop owners as most times it was impossible for shoppers to get parked. Much better now, a welcome improvement.
Tesco tried to reduce parking to 2 hours, must have been feedback, as after a few weeks it was back to 3 hours. Other than at this time of year, no problem getting parked at the supermarkets.
The large retail parks mainly have unlimited free parking, the longer you stay, the more you may spend!

In the city centre, all parking is expensive, the longer you stay the more expensive it gets.
There are very few shops there that you cannot find in the out of town retail parks, so why would you bother to go into the centre? Then they wonder why the city centre is dying.
Buses.....what buses?......no buses from here that go into the centre.....we have to drive and then park nearer to take the bus, so rarely go.
Will soon be 2 years since we were last in the city centre, and then only to see our lawyer.

Yes you can if you use a Tesco credit card to pay and have enough available funds on it. You'll get 1 point for every £8 spend. Last year I got clubcard points even for paying income tax! You'd get 4000 points for £32,000 spend, that's allowing an extra £1000 for any extras you need to buy for your new caravan. 4000 points will get you £40 worth of vouchers that could be worth up to £160. That could buy you a return ferry crossing for a holiday in your new caravan!

I don't get points on Barclaycard, just interest free credit on the outstanding balance. The same applies to my HSBC credit card.

On 22nd December, Tesco Bank charged me £1.53 interest yet I've accumulated £30 in vouchers. That's £28.47 profit!

I like mushy peas with fish and chips accompanied by salt and vinegar!

We did another shop using the Tesco Extra at Eastville off junction 2 of the M32. Parking was more easily available there and we found things that we couldn't find at the Yate Tesco such as bread sauce to go with our turkey. So yes, more points!

His beard would need to be firmly attached. It would soon get pulled off by the kids if it wasn't, no doubt with peels of laughter!

5th January for me, depending if I'm on the rota that day!

We've never tried that, Goldie! We've always used the packet mix. It probably tastes better made your way though!

We've got up to another grey, overcast start to the day this morning. The kettle's on for a pot of tea.
The warden has invited everyone over for drinks and nibbles between 3 and 5 p.m. today being Christmas Eve.

It's rather quiet on here this morning! Is everyone busy preparing for Christmas Day?

Have you ever calculated if the petrol used to visit Tesco costs more than the points earned?
Anybody that can consider purchasing a caravan on a credit card does not need to worry about fuel prices.
Yes you can if you use a Tesco credit card to pay and have enough available funds on it
My limit would let me buy an aquaroll not a caravan. Must be doing something wrong.

Blue sky, sun but breezy with 9C temperature. Off for a walk to the beach then with a bit of luck will meet the LIB at the pub later, will be the first time in months since his cancer treatment and hip replacement. Have to take it easy as I may go to the 10pm Carols at Christmas service.

I think the desire to make a "profit" out of a huge supermarket chain might also be a bit fruitless (excuse the pun.....)
However if you like taking a punt you might always hope to beat the system, get the most points, stars or whatever?
