In support of the OP, my take on it is that if so many are missing out booking for a full weekend because some selfish people are block booking on day one with no intention of attending, surely in these days of t'internet the club could approach those that do book sites on day one and not turn up so many times should be approached and advised the club and it's members are losing out.

I in the past have tried to book  a weekend at Fineshade to be told Friday was booked full and joined a " cancelled " queue and thankfully the wardens telephoned me on the Thursday evening.

    Happy caravanning.

I do not think you understand the system ,if some do, not turn up they will be contacted by the club, and the "cancelled?"queue may also be the wardens releasing repaired/previously wet pitches etc as available

No, stops long sayers who pay more to the club. About time the club held a % back for week long bookers

yes you will get a letter/email if you don't show or cancel with 72 hours and three (is it?) such occurrences will mean you lose all future booking and a possible ban. The club did once state how many members had been dealt with in this manner but  I can't remember the exact number but it was low.

    'Twern't me, honest guv.

Haven't booked any sites or tried to. Feel left out😓. If by any chance I need to stay on one I'll try to book nearer the time but will probably find a CL first.

Even managed to get into a HP site this year just by telephoning site for cancellations near to arrival date. I do feel sorry though for those who work and want popular sites for their main holidays but can't access website due to work commitments. Maybe a weekend day for frenzy day would have been more equal but as I say it doesn't matter to me, for which I am grateful.

On our tours wecan spend seven or more consecutive nights on club sites, not on the same site mind, this tour may including single overnight stops too. Now most of us join the club as it is a network of sites which is a particular advantage over many other providers.

    People work at weekends, too.

No one day will suit everyone so the present system is as equal as it gets unless rolling bookings are introduced.

Slightly off topic.... When the 2018 bookings came online was it possible for non CMC members to make bookings and if so how do they do this or is there a time scale before non members can book sites?

Yes, we live in a 24-7-52 society these days. How we relate to this may change on occasions as we travel through our lives. I know it has for us. I guess in the big scheme of things it would be daft commercially to loose sight of this. Some however just wish the system would cater for what is right for them, for their current situation now!

Wrong again W&J, what's to say that those who only book one night haven't booked a long stay at another site and are using the single night a stop off en-route?

Non members can check availability on line , but I think they can only make a booking by phone , something to do with the extra non member supplement payment (£12 per night )👍

Not involved in the mad scramble but every year those who dont get what they want moan. Tough, its real life. Find an alternative none CC site if necessary.

Just for the record, I have not booked anything. In fact, I didn't even try.

    Am I alone?
