Caravan Europe 2014 Guide
I have a Club Caravan Europe Guide 2014 covering France & Andorra. Is there is a more up to date version. Looked at Club Shop and they have Touring France 2017. Does anyone know if this is the same or similar format?

New name, new format. As my friends in Thailand say to me, "Same same but different".

We've found that the older versions of Caravan Club guides has very little difference in newer versions, and your 2014 book will still have 95% accurate information compared to the 2017 one. If you are staying for a long time you may just save enough to pay for the more up to date book, if not then 2014 should serve your needs.

Agree with Val
I bought a new one in 2016 to replace my old 2009 twin version. In that year the book went from two editions in Europe to three editions with France having it's own edition, a clever marketing ploy, so I only purchased the French edition.
There was not a lot of difference, in fact i was quite disappointed. On the face of it caravan sites don't change but peoples views might.

I wonder how many people contribute to the guide these days? I tend not to. Sometimes the reports are contradictory as they mesh several contributions together. The sites drop off the radar if no new reports are added for a set number of years. Whilst the guides contain a wealth of information I do wonder if the campsite element would be better added to the main website so people could add their reviews? Mind you most of that information is already on UKCampsites.

We always use a slightly out of date version and I have to say rarely add our own information these days as it is merely replicating what is already there. We do find the guide useful for approach information which is sometimes better than satnav guidance.
I agree with David that adding to the main website would be a better method than the current one.
I have never used UK Campsites but a quick look this morning shows that at least one of the sites we use regularly isn't there, but is in the CC guide.

I thought that I read somewhere that the Club were working on having a digital version. If you look at the ACSI handbook, the app is far more usable and has more information than the handbook.

The main changes cover the driving regulations in any one country but you can that information (even more up to date) from the web. None the less they take some beating, ACSI and the UK Camping reviews are worth a read when looking for a site.
