Hunkering down with 70mph winds and heavy rain. Was supposed to be out on Cader Idris but cancelled.

There's some wind here too but not as bad as that! It's quite hot in the awning with the sun streaming through the front window. I've been sitting out there in the relaxer. It feels like summer. There's not a cloud in the sky! No need to go to Spain, we've got lovely weather right here!

We are sending fewer and fewer cards as the years go on, but there are still a  handful of friends and relatives in UK who do not "do computers" or never seem to reply to e mails!

Nearby friends and family get hand delivered cards, so still plenty to decorate the house.

Grey and wet here....again.....no wind as yet, though according to the forecast it is on its way, snow too maybe.

    Quite mild meantime.

Better get back to my drawer making, OH is getting impatient!

No Internet from 4pm yesterday but fingers crossed for today.

Gas man came and put new fixing on boiler in different place from last 2 visits. Sometimes one wonders whether it's just a guess.

Doing some research work this afternoon on our previous visits to Aiguamolls nature reserve in Spain for a fellow CTer so may get the bug to revisit next year!

Just thinking about where to go in the caravan for a few nights at the beginning of December.  We don't want to go too far as we would prefer to get back in the light.  Wondering about Broadway.

Was breezy but bright here, now cloudy.

Wrote some Christmas cards this morning just had lunch and friends coming round later.

OH insisting on updating me with budget news. Can't bear it myself. Once someone else has digested it they can give tell me, and I'll have to accept it and get on with it 😉

Up and out early for our walk today - Madame Kirkwood predicts very heavy rain later on this afternoon. frown

Drove to the nearby village of Sapperton intending to walk a stretch of the Macmillan Way then back via Daglingworth.  The start of the path is narrow and virtually unwalkable because of the damage caused by horse riders - it's a footpath/bridleway so they're not actually doing anothing wrong but it does make it very difficult going for a mile or so. I met a lady who lives in the village walking her dog on the opposite direction. She told me the villagers had met with local stables and owners who'd agreed not to use that stretch in winter. (There are tons of wide attractive bridleways on the adjacent Bathurst Estate.) But unfortunately a couple of "newcomers from London" were refusing to cooperate, saying it was a bridleway so they had every right to use it. Correct of course, but just another sign of today's lack of consideration for others! yell

Still once past there it was a very nice couple of hours walk, staying dry, and arriving back in the village just in time for a pint of Tribute at The Bell. smile)

Wind's getting up now though and it's gone very dark, so glad to be back in the dry and warm. Time to catch up on a bit of reading now. smile

It's continuing sunny here but only two hours of daylight left because sunset is just after 4 p.m. However, the cloudless sky may mean it will stay light a bit longer this afternoon. I'm due to work 17:00 to 20:00 this evening. So only three hours to do.

Wild wet and drab up here today. The BBC weather forecast was spot on.  It will be full wet weather walking gear for our afternoon walk at 1500 hrs, it should all be dry now from this morning's soaking. This weather does not phase the dog, he even enjoys being towelled dry.

Trying not to snigger and say I told you so 😂😂😂😂😂😂 and it's not my strong point 😢.

Awaiting arrival of friends so OH went to pop heating on in case we sat in the lounge. Control brain not working at all now. Been temperamental for ages but that was me.......... well be sitting it's not  conservatory as don' want gas fire on!

No hot water either after he's tried to fix AGAIN. Being warm and washing is overrated anyway. Thank goodness for gas fires and mild weather!

Delighted by the budget 😉. Well I will be when they stop analysis in a few days 😂😂

Drawer production has ground to a halt due to lack of screws.  Ordered them from Toolstation on Monday evening, should have been here today.  Very disappointing as their delivery times are usually very good.

Still time for them to arrive today I suppose.

Dark out now, still no wind here.

Sorry folks but it's  been another beautiful day here. Went for a drive up the coast today towards Almeria, although the first part of the drive was stunning the latter bit wasn't as nice due to all the greenhouses which cover the hill side and valley floor. They are needed of course to grow our demands on all year round fruit and salads, such a shame.

Hope you are all ok after the high winds.

Winds not been too bad here so far, been a pretty miserable day though.

House smells of paint, we have been glossing the woodwork and bathroom door frame, trouble is its making the other paintwork look yellow, and so we have to keep painting!

Off to the local pub tonight, mid week roast for £4 a bargain! smile

Hope the cream works. I know what you mean about that type of pill. If it's low mood rather than depression, this time of year won't help 😐. You could try a daylight lamp and natural 'tablets' Healthspan do 2 which can be used together 5HTP and Rhodiola Stress Relief. Do you research and see what you think.

We're just going through the worst of the wind now, hoping we don't lose anything. I think it's heading east so you have been warned!

Pete,  get your nose sorted first and then see how you feel, nose bleeds can be very tiring, take care. Hope you feel better soon.

Batten. down the hatches one and all if you're in line for this storm.

Thanks for the warning brue. We've had a yellow warning since 9am, been a bit breezy but not much so far. I have checked for likely flying objects 😉.

The moon was beautiful a few minutes ago but its cloudy now.

Don't worry about upsetting us Tammy!

We spent a month at Cabo De Gata a few years ago and the plastic as horrendous. Trouble is that after storms no-one seems bothered about clearing up. It's just left and becomes an unedifying mess.

BTW - Love the predictive text. It came up with Cable Dr Gaga!😅
