My get up and go came back today 😆.
Collected online orders from M&S, one due today, had notifiation it was in on Saturday, both ordered Friday! When I went to collect around 11am long queue so met my friend for catch up and back about 1.30pm to no queue and to be told that my 2nd parcel was there too. For both I picked the earliest delivery date and the page said there may be delays due to volume of orders!
Back home and prepared a cooked roasted veg, hard to do small amounts so 2 large trays full, resulting in a dozen frozen bags too. Did a full roast dinner too, really nice change 😃.
Posted off NZ Christmas goodies and cards, pleasantly surprised at postage and bought Christmas stamps.
Grey afternoon, needed the light on all afternoon to do cooking and pulled the curtains about 4 as it was so horrible outside 😢. Roll on spring. But then before that I've got nz summer 😆😆

Day off today proved to be rather an expensive one! Dog needed a trip to the vets as she kept being sick. Blood test and anti sickness jab £102 please! She's insured but think the excess is £100 now☹️
Spoke to my local caravan dealer this afternoon. I have a Sprite on order for delivery in Jan. I wanted to know if I could possibly change the order for a Challenger 580. The dealer wasnt hopeful but rang me back this evening with the good news that he has managed to swap my order with another dealer and I can have the new van some time in Feb! Great service! So excited!

We've got up to another rather dull and grey day. Another day off from work but no plans to go anywhere.

Very grey here as well and windy, but warm for the time of year. Very difficult getting the solid fuel heating to burn slow enough in these conditions. Shame we can't save it up for when it goes colder.
Bank, caravan storage and Tesco this morning, while OH is out with a friend. Bank for things you can't do online. Storage to swap over the battery to keep the alarm and tracker active. I keep thinking of getting a solar panel, as the battery seems to get heavier every time.☹️ Although as we are thinking of getting a MH it would not be worth the expense.
Tesco as they seem to have 25% off 6 bottles or more of champagne / wine. Plus they sent me a money off voucher. So time to get the Christmas booze.😀

Just a small panel propped up in your window would probably be adequate to keep the battery topped up for the alarm, I would have thought without going for an expensive installation. The saving on fuel for the trips too storage would pay for it.

Foul weather up here, very wet and windy.
Went to Lidl and found they still had the LED light strips in stock, offer started Sunday, so have bought 4 packs to replace the existing under cupboard fluorescent lights in the kitchen.
Drawer construction progressing very slowly as I have been to DD's house to do a second coat of paint in her downstairs toilet.

It's certainly worth considering CY. The front of the van does face in the optimum direction. I don't mind the fuel, as it is close to a supermarket we use, and I like to check on it every month or so. It would certainly spare my back, which is my main concern.

Arrived at Cirencester Park slightly later than anticipated due to the fact that I had to return home to pick up the wallet and mobile which I'd rather (very) stupidly left on the coffee table when setting off. Luckily realised quite quickly so no great drama and it did at least mean that I didn't arrive on site before 12!
The site is fairly quiet at the moment but there's a rally at the weekend so doubtless it'll get busy on Friday.
Just me and Lady on this visit - Mrs M is playing a crucial role in the Christmas lights switch on at the weekend!
It's been a fairly murky day but dry and incredibly mild. We've just been for a walk over to the park then into the town and along the riverside walk. Very pleasant way to spend the afternoon. Lady's curled up opposite me dozing now - seems a pretty good idea to me!

,Craned in a refurbed' pontoon this morning ready for a waiting yacht, then assisted with yesterday's troublesome engine on a yacht that was towed in.Turned out to be an incorrectly seated fuel filter on the rubber seal causing air to be sucked in.,changed it all then run it up to full rev's .Sorted !!

Shopping this morning for vittels. Gas man cometh this afternoon to fix small problem with boiler leak (third visit for same problem in a year) and phone call to BT to complain that the super service we were receiving after their last visit precisely 1 month ago has now gone pear shaped. Another visit on Thursday with threat of call out charge to be levied!
How I wish MIL would embrace Mobile Phones so that I could get rid of landline. It really is a lost cause.

Another beautiful day here, a bit warmer than yesterday. Went for a drive down the coast to Benalmadena, had a spot of lunch then walk along the sea front, lots of folk on the beach enjoying the good weather. Had a nice ice cream on the walk back to the car, parking cost all of 1€ for all day parking at the marina what a bargain. Back to the villa in time to see the wonderful sunset again.
While out yesterday we parked up near a campsite, couldn't resist having a look around it. Wow not my kind of site, very cramped pitches, vans almost touching each other. Trees so dense the site felt very dark and depressing. Not that it stopped folk from spending the winter there, lots of German, Swedish, Danish and French vans. Unless you stay for 30 days its not cheap either at 29€ a night (not acsi) just 300 yards along the sea front was half a dozen m/hs wilding on open ground with views of the sea, after the depressing site I'm beginning to understand why some prefer to wild camp.

Postage these days really does rule out sending anything decent!
We agreed a few years back with my sisters in Norway that it was silly to spend money on postage, plus of course, none of us need any more "stuff!
Lately we have just sent an e mail Christmas greeting to all the relatives, maybe a card to any more elderly relatives who are not online.
We use Christmas as a sort of "catch up on the year" occasion.
The last of my aunts ( dad's sister) died recently, a whole generation gone, so now there is nobody left to send a card to. Very sad.

Yep, why spend £1 sending a 20p card!
Much better to e mail greetings to everyone.
OH is fantastic at writing individual letters to the UK relatives, but I struggle to do something to send to the Norwegians!
She makes it all sound so chatty and natural, writes like she talks.
I am not great at communicating, much better on technical stuff.
I generally write something , in Norwegian, then pass it to OH to edit. Though not a native speaker, she is good at Norwegian grammar and proof reading and often finds mistakes I have made!

I'm probably the last of my generation to keep in touch with Canada and NZ, a bit sad (as you say) both cousins that I keep in touch with like contact with the "homeland" even though one of the families emigrated over 100 years ago! I always print out a letter and photos and I get similar ones back. We're now onto grandchildren, it's nice, I don't mind sending a little pressie too but it's annoying to pay so much postage. We also keep in touch in the year if anything special comes up.

Glad that you got home safe & dry WN yesterday. Fintshire was the warmest place in the country too.
Have a good time at Cirencester, M and Lady.
I finished off cleaning the inside of the caravan this morning so not much needed to do to be ready for the off early in December. Managed a couple of dry walks this morning but it was all wet weather gear this afternoon, but at least it wasn't too windy and was able to use a brolly, so didn't get too wet.

It's been a long time since I last sent any cards by post. I use ecards instead which I send by email. It saves a huge amount in postage but it's not quite the same though because you can't exactly hang ecards to display on the wall next to the Christmas tree!

We've just got up to a rather cloudy morning. It's sunrise time but no sun!

At last the sun has come out and there's blue sky. We've just finished breakfast. Plenty of wildlife around particularly, grey squirrels, foxes and all kinds of birds including woodpeckers. The sun is coming through the front window of the awning as I type this, creating a golden glow.
