More points in the account but less money. I know which i'd prefer.

Yes but it was a necessary spend so better to get points for it than get nothing!

Mitsubishi certainly see you coming Malc.  If your car is out of warranty I would look for a Japanese specialist garage.  Generally they are fully manufacturer trained and a lot cheaper than main dealers

No doubt there would have been a charge for fitting it in that total.

When we needed one in the old Volvo I jut bought it, fitted it at home myself, and disposed of the old one at the local recycling centre.

Agree, that is what we did with the Volvo, there are at least  2 excellent independant Volvo specialists in town offering good savings compared to main dealer servicing/repairs.

We had a couple of service plans with the main dealer first, which can be good value, then went elsewhere.

You should see our EV battery (but at least it's cellular. smile) Can't remember OH ever buying anything for an older car that couldn't be bought somewhere at the best price.

The Volvo had the battery under the floor in the boot.

Quite a bit of dismantling to get to it, but once you got there, quite easy at the lower height to lift out and replace.

Have not found the one in the Touareg yet!

It's been bright and sunny all day, just watched the sunset through the caravan front window with a very red horizon!

Sun not set here yet, loving the extra 2+ hours extra daylight.

Best day weather wise so far, had a nice lazy day sun bathing by the pool. We have great views of the Med which looks like a mill pond just now.

OH not so great today bless him he has man flu innocent my cold is still putting in an appearance at times but I do feel better, food is starting to appeal to me again.

On that note I will go and master up something tasty for our evening meal, chicken something is on the cards laughing

Thanks TG, glad you're enjoying your hols, hope your OH feels better soon.

It's been a lovely sunny day here after a heavy frost last night and looking at the sunset no doubt more frost tonight. OH has been out fishing all day, I haven't done much, a few jobs and daughter's partner has been varnishing some wood on the boat, his usual sunny work spot is in the shade for the winter so he didn't stay long! Going out to the theatre tomorrow night to see Arcadia by Tom Stoppard, looking forward to seeing something different.

My OH is just recovering from a chest infection, initially I thought he had man flu too!  His coughing became worse though and when he went to the docs on Monday he was told he had a chest infection.  Never had one before, and it's really floored him, though he is getting better now.  I've now got a cold with a bad cough, so between us we can't make a good one wink

Hope you'll both feel better soon, but at least you're in sunny Spain, rather than a miserable UK.  Just started raining here.

Yes, I checked out the overnight temps so he only did moveable parts that have been stored somewhere frost free. I still think it was too cold!

Get well soon InaD and OH, I've only just started to get over a three week cold bug.

Thanks, yes it doesn't seem quite so bad in the lovely sunshine. Don't  know where we picked this virus up but it can go back, we've had enough of it. It does seem to hit the chest though, both of us coughing like mad, thankfully I came prepared.

Glad to hear you're both recovering.

Down at DD's house for a few hours today, finished fixing all the tiles so will be able to do the grouting tomorrow.  Prepared the wiring for her under cupboard lights for fixing in place once the grout is set.

Also have a new outside light to fit tomorrow, hoping for dry  weather!

Mr H can change our X-Trail battery.   He says yes it is heavy but not as heavy as the caravan battery.

It is arthritis in spine and shoulder that makes it hard. That and the fact it means reaching over the bodywork and down into engine compartment and my being a short a**e smile

Looking out of our kitchen window this morning wondering when the first Fieldfares might put in an appearance when I realised the larger than life blackbird was actually a fieldfare, queuing up to get at the apples on one of the trees. So took a few photos, will put in "what have you seen." Winter has arrived! smile
