I've got Barclaycard Platinum but don't get any points for it. So now I only use it for balance or money transfers when these are on interest free credit offers. I use the Tesco credit card for purchases outside Tesco and the Tesco debit card for purchases inside Tesco. Of all the creditcards I have, Barclaycard Platinum is the one with the highest credit limit. So if I spend on Tesco credit card and run up a balance that is getting close to the credit limit, I can make more funds available by transferring the balance to Barclaycard and still get interest free credit. However, they do charge a transfer fee, as a one off payment.
The disadvantage in this, is that if I have an outstanding balance or money transfer on Barclaycard, Barclaycard will charge interest on any purchases. In other words, I can't have both. So by not doing any purchases at all on Barclaycard, I can save all interest charges. Does that make sense?

Had a very chilly morning yesterday cleaning out the gutters. Then took the MH to the local weigh bridge to check the axle weights. Surprised just how light the rear one was. Gives me plenty of margin for heavy stuff at the back end. I wonder if OH will let me have a small motorbike?

Not doing much today, debating whether to go to a local pub tonight to watch a film in the skittle alley. We have some good films coming up. It's quite entertaining listening to the audience participation but not as comfortable as the local cinema, cushions needed for the seats.

An appointment to see podiatrist surgeon privately at private hospital. Satnav took us a very pretty route, wanted us to use m25 but I said no! So lovely drive which included Epping Forest where the oaks are a beautiful colour and have shed enough leaves for the forest floor to be golden too and the sun was out too 😆. Made the thought of the cost a bit more bearable 😉.
Lovely man, hopes I can get my referral to him via NHS. Today's visit was to learn damage limitation, before any procedure if necessary which I can'. Fit in until next April. Plenty to read and digest and exercises to do. Sadly shoes to be lace up with orthotics 😢 nothing I wasn't expecting, plus bunion splint. It seems procedure is likely to be necessary but recovery time shorter than I'd read and graphic details as to a couple of the 135 ways to do bunion ops. I had an NHS x Ray yesterday.

KjellNN sounds like you're progressing well. Seems like the ladies in your life don't allow you much time for mischief 😂.
Our baby hedgehog returned again last evening and enjoyed dog food, apparently mealworms deplete their calcium levels 😢. Thought that would be good boost to get its weight up before hibernation! Still I expect it'll find a few that the birds didn't. So I'll open a new tin for it tonight 😆.
Daughter sent copy of her observation report to maintain her teacher registration in NZ. One set of very proud parents 😆😃😆

That must be a very pleasant surprise on the weight, but I wouldn' get your hopes up too high. We still need to weigh ours - seems to just drift! Won' happen until next April at the earliest, probably on its way for MOT if we can find closely weighbridge.

Going to spoil the nicely symmetrical no 11111 post above!
Decided to start on the two Christmas cakes I make each year, one for son and one for us (the others don't eat them like we do.) So that's all the fruit soaking in brandy and orange overnight, ready to add the other ingredients tomorrow. If I hadn't bought a Kenwood chef a couple of years ago I would have given up doing this as it's hard going with arthritic wrists.

Your house must smell nice brue 😆. I don't make Christmas cake now as it isn't liked by many, usual just do a semi rich fruit cake but not sure about that this year.
Just received our new house insurance documents which I chased earlier today. They'd been delivered to Street not Drive. Nice lady knocked and apologised for opening said it was the second item she'd put through our letter box in the last week, the other was a birthday card for OH marked 5 November and she apologised that she hadn' got it here in time. The Steet address is the local Conservative and she only works part time.
I'll have to contact the sorting office to discuss tardy sorting. Whilst the information in the envelope from the insurance company wasn't highly confidential it did contain monetary details.
I use predictive text all the time but on this site, you'll be surprised to learn 😉 it's been doing really bizarre things for awhile. It' been dropping the last letters off of words with an ' see the example I've left in. And when I've re- ead this post it had changed Conservative to conservatory ludicrous 😲😲😲. Could be more accurate than I think 😉. Also as I type fast on my phone, rarely use laptop on this forum it shows all the letters slightly enlarged as I type and sometimes takes an age to put them in the box - reminds me of manual typewriters and hitting the keys too close together and getting a jam. There that shows my age 😂😂😂

We attended the appointment with my wife's visa solicitor this morning only to discover that some of the documents submitted in relation to our income may not be considered by the Home Office as permanent income or providing sufficient evidence of ongoing income. So the solicitor advised that if a spouse visa was applied for, it would be refused because the allowable income would fall below the minimum income requirement for the five year visa route. So she advised to apply for the 10 year route where the minimum income requirement would not apply because more time would be allowed to fulfill this requirement.
We were advised that if we used the 5 year route, there was a risk that the visa would be refused. So we have agreed the 10 year route where a successful result can be achieved. The case for a successful result is very strong because all the other rules have been fulfilled.

This afternoon, I renewed the insurance on the Smart Car. My existing insurer quoted a premium of £1400. Through comparethemarket.com The lowest quote was through RAC insurance at an annual premium of £375, a huge saving in cost and all paid up through my Tesco credit card, so more points as well!

We have spent the last few days emptying out the motorhome ready for the change over next week. I couldn't believe the amount of stuff in the van Far too much I reckon there is stuff in there that hasn.t been used since we got the van 4 years ago. It certainly all won't be going in the new van just the essentials although I seem to remember saying that the last time we changed vans lol

Busy day today. OH phoned up first thing this morning and managed to book an appointment for the hairdressers at 1:00. So it was our last load of washing done before our morning walk, getting home just before it started to rain. This continued all afternoon with periods of drizzle followed by thick mist then heavy downpours. After the hairdressers it was a visit to the bank and then up to the doctors for our Flu injections. Tonight I've managed to sort out another 12 month contract for our gas & electric, through U-Switch, with Scottish Power this time.

Bakers2. I had my bunions operated on about 20 years ago. It was the best thing I ever did. I had both feet done at the same time as I just wanted to get all over and done with. I had 8 weeks off work, 6 of them in plaster followed by physio. I expect things are different now. Mr H still had private medical insurance at the time as he was still at work so I went down that route. I hope it all goes well for you. Congratulations to your daughter. You must be very proud.

Milliehull you were very brave to have both done together, but I can see why you went for it. Luckily I only have the one, probably worsened by lack of wearing orthotics to raise my arch since I left work. I've been in sandals or bare foot for a lot of the last 18 months, never gave it a thought 😤😭. Things do seem to have changed, apparently there are 135 ways that bunions can be operated on! Hopefully mine will not be the more severe of the 2 he proposes, no under plate but screws. Local anesthesia if you want, no mention of plaster but post surgery footwear 😲.
Goldie great sale 😆. Auctions are funny things for prices art is sold in guineas I believe, quite a difference if you're bidding in millions 😲😲😲 to both the bid and commission!

I got a phone call from work asking if I could change to working Wednesday instead of Tuesday. So I had the evening off yesterday. So an earlier dinner and an earlier bedtime!

We've now completed one weeks stay here at the Lancing Fruit Farm CL. Paid first weeks site fees of £84 on Monday and now two days into our second week. So feeling more settled into our new location. I'll be working 6 to 10 tonight.

Thought I'd enjoy the smell of Christmas cakes cooking this morning but we're overwhelmed with the smell of slurry being sprayed on the field behind us, it's eye watering just now. Second day, third spray. If I go outside I'll get a dose too!

Managed to get the worktop upstairs to the kitchen, measured and marked for cutting, now need to take it out on the deck to cut. Will need OH to help with that.
Meantime I have fitted the worktop lighting, and the new ceiling lights have arrived. Not looking forward to cutting the holes in the ceiling.....all that plasterboard dust!!

This morning, I got the offer of a seasonal pitch at Gatwick, just checked my card account, £620 successfully paid. So now our accommodation for the caravan is completely paid up for 12 months, from March 2018 to November 2018 at Northbrook Farm and November 2018 to March 2019 at Gatwick! Wonderful news!
Also, we visited the Service department of Brighton Mitsubishi and got the car booked in for 11 a.m. tomorrow to have a new battery fitted, also booked to have the Airbags done for 8th January.
