Burrs electricity supply

We have just had a frito mon on a comercial sit and the electric tripped 3 times, the site warden said it was because everyone had their heating on (it was really cold with wind off the north sea/wash,and he stated that they are considering lowering the trip size on the bollards,as the supply can cope with all heating but not with all the latest gizmos that everyone "needs" these days and also they are banning awning heaters

Currently just sorting out my Winter wardrobe, swopping warm weather clothes for those more suitable for Yorkshire Winters. I have some staples that I like to leave in the MH, such as a lightweight but warm fleece top (base layer), a sleeveless knitted pullover, (for over long sleeve t shirts), some warmer weight lounging leggings, and then lots of smart warmer weight tops and bottoms. It's an old fashioned principle, but we find using appropriate clothing, indoors and out, far healthier than living in an artificial fug, even on low ampage sites we never struggle.
That said, if it is happening, then Club needs to sort it out given the prices they charge!

I'm off there shortly but shouldn't be a big problem as I can run the espresso machine, the microwave and the heated rollers from the inverter. Everything else is 12v or gas. Just need to leave a 240v light on so I'll be able to tell when it comes back on.

We did, very nice it was.

You could have fully balanced phases, in theory, but if the caravans don't fill the pitches in an orderly manner......

Even if it was metered, and everyone was happy to pay, it would still trip the main supply in this instance. No-ones individual bollard tripped.

We have had some problems on sites where (mainly weekenders) other users have not been considerate of the overall use,
We have had to run our fridge on gas as the voltage had dropped below what the fridge liked.
Our fridge will cut out if the voltage is too low, we have found this on Crossways site.

I blame it all on Malcolm.

Any up-to-date information today (tuesday) from someone on site - or from Caravan Club staff even.
Perhaps the next person reading this post would be good enough to report it so that it is brought to the attention of whoever monitors these things.

Thanks!
Already we all pay - whether we use it or not.

I was at Burr's all last week and yes the power went off at least three times whilst I was on site but it was only for a matter of not more than five minutes or so each time.
You can't blame folks for having their heating on at this time of year; one or two mornings I had to scrape ice off the outside of the windows.
Many pitches which were previously grass pitches have been turned into serviced hardstanding pitches and other standard awning pitches are now serviced pitches.
There's also a lot of work going on around the entrance at the moment and I also heard that the Activity Centre is to close so it'll be interesting to see what happens to their premises and how it affects the traffic.0 -
I just spoke to the warden Wednesday 15th and engineers have been in and fixed the inbalance that was causing the problem.
Apparently the type of breaker in use needs to be allowed to cool before it will reset, hence the 20 minute wait until it was coming back on.

It's back to being Brrrr Country Park
Whatever was or was not done has not stopped the power going off, but they are able to get it back on again in about 15 minutes now.
So glad I can swap microwave and espresso machine on to the inverter.

Only a few gaps at my end.

Is it the whole site that has been "tripped"or just certain area/s, there was a problem on a site in the Cotswolds that had one area that for two weeks kept "tripping",the fault was found to be a member who had used really long metal pegs (2ft) on his storm straps and one had just nicked the power supply which took out the power when it was windy

It is quite fair as everyone goes off. Looks like sometimes the toilet block stays on, sometimes not. Will take a wander down next time to see what goes with the access and exit barriers as that could be a real problem.
Now I will always take a torch to the toilet visits, just in case, whatever the site.

Not seen the tumbleweed - I'm along at the Station. Do give a wave if passing again.
Noticed later yesterday voltage had dropped to 213. Now at 223 so improved but most odd.

Two vacant pitches in the second half of November - The Club must be getting something right. Or is it that 80% of the sites are shut?

Hi everyone, we apologise for the problems people have been experiencing at Burrs Country Park. We are aware of the issue and our electrical contractors are working on this over the weekend.
