Phishing letter from Equifax?
I had a letter, snail mail, from Equifax saying that my my personal data has been accessed, please read this letter and take immediate action to protect yourself. It seems through a cyber attack against Equifax in the US. It goes on to say it's my name, date of birth and telephone number - they've had the info since May 2017. It goes on to ask me to contact Equifax with my details.
I intend on doing nothing other than being extra vigilant. Does anyone else have any knowledge of this?

Yes, I had a letter from Equifax about it. I took them up on their offer of free registration and also a years free CIFAS membership which you can extend to 2 years. Better safe than sorry and it didn't take long to do it.

Article as part on Moneybox on radio 4 today, repeated Sunday evening 9 or 9.30pm or on iPlayer. They say UK wasn't hacked!
I opted to do nothing because of info they asked for. If it was hacked again far more of my info would be included.
