I have an Autotrail Tracker RS from new . It’s 20 months old and I have really cared for the vehicle and undertaken its numerous problems through warranty . On the 30th September this year . I entered the vehicle to load for holiday . I found the Sargent PCB totally burnt out and the vehicle and our possessions extensively damaged by smoke . After investigation by Sargent I am now told that as the result is inconclusive as to the cause I am not covered by warranty Insurance . Totally gutted and that there is no goodwill coming forward at this time . My wife is heartbroken. Anybody else experience this type of incident and what steps did you take . I am now having to use my insurance which I will no doubt then be financially out of pocket in the future.

Unit inspected by Caravan Club Insurance assessor today. He has no doubt the proble m is from the unit having a fault . It’s not, in his opinion for Insurance to deal. It is definitely a warranty issue. Brownhills my retailer are reproaching Autotrail .

If the contents are covered by insurance then provided the vehicle has been serviced to schedule I see no reason why the damage to ant personal contents should not be covered by insurance. With regard to the charger and damage to the caravan I would agree to make it the dealers problem.

Personal items damaged are of no great value and would cost more to use insurance

Caravan club Insurance have stepped in. They have said the vehicle is a write off and have paid me. I understand Axa are to take recovery action against Brownhills . Another own goal by Autotrail. Game over .

Thanks for your support in this discussion

    Hello Elmafud,

I am currently looking at purchasing an Autotrail Tracker RS salvage vehicle (reg starting FV65) with exactly the same problem and was wondering if this was yours origionally? It would be very much appreciated if you could contact me on 07876718865 to discus further as I would be very interested in any advice you can give.

    Kind regards

    Chris
