Hi all,

We are off to Germany July/August and have settled on a site called Camping Wirthshof in Markdorf. The question being has anyone had an experience with this site that they are able to share?.

Driving down from Calais via Belgium,Luxembourg, Germany looking for a good One night stopover site or a decent Service Station that lets you stay overnight.

Many thanks,

Nick S.

Nick2012. Personally being a frequent traveller to Germany and Austria I would not stop on any Service area in any country in Europe.  We always stop on Bonafide sites.

An excellent route to Bodensee is from Calais through Belgium into Germany driving via the Black Forest to Bodensee.  Don’t know of the site you mention but our trip home in 2016 might be of interest to you. We stopped on an excellent site in the countryside above Bodensee.

Happy to answer any questions you might have.

Struth, Dianne. Where did you dig that one up? It's over 4 years old.

These very old posts keep reappearing at random!  No one knows why - but it seems to keep happening.

Having said that, we stayed at Lake Constance in 1976 - and loved it!  But it wasn't at the site being asked about, so not much point in replying.

I suspect that behind the scenes the IT staff at East Grinstead towers keep 'tweeking' the forum software and resurrecting these very old posts.

it just seems beyond all comprehension for those who've spent time in a commercial IT environment that this utter shambles can still be lumbering on...

even the fixing of the simplest navigation issues have been abandoned..

    utter tosh, im afraid....

surely, any 'market leading' business presenting this tat to the vanning world out there would be utterly ashamed.....?

i really dont understand how the club can continue to present this to its current (and potential) customers......

Perhaps they are trying to match the quality of UK caravans. wink

The problem occurs when someone starts a new discussion with the same name as has happened in this case. It has been flagged up as an issue. I have tried editing the titles of similar threads but it seems to make no difference as it does not change the original url.

David, how many of the things that have been 'flagged up as an issue' have actually been resolved?

We, the users, have no idea whether/if any items are ever fixed when the system is taken down for maintenance...

there is no documentation (that i know of) that convey what changes are being made....so that we can check them for ourselves.....anyone heard of 'user testing'?

even the cheapest (free) online app will tell its users why an update is required and what changes the user will see....

there is still no definitive snag list, the priority of each issue, the date it is planned to be fixed and which release this will be....

the above is the most basic process needed to manage change in an IT system, surely we can expect CC (or its contracted partner) to be able to do this?

unfortunately, not one scrap of evidence so far that i can think of.....

is it really that hard to keep your customers in the loop?
