All I'm really saying is that different 'providers' have different arrangements and that is good in my opinion. Just choose one which suits. The C&MC arrangements seem to suit many of us for a whole variety of reasons so if one wants something different, just search elsewhere! Thankfully choice is still available.

I can't believe that a drill is that noisy, particularly compared to a diesel starting up in the morning. Perhaps the answer is to let your OH snore more loudly to drown out extraneous noises.

pretty much it Micky, but most large UK sites have similar set arrival and departure times so it's not like the club is doing out of the ordinary anyway.

Hearing a neighbour departing is a welcomed sound if they are using a "slam door" camper van. You know they are on their way and there is some hope the next tenant might not have one.wink

We've been glad of the more flexible departure times with the club. Hope we haven't disturbed people but we have left some sites before 7 am, we try to be quiet. We've occasionally returned at a late hour too. Prefer this set up to the more rigid rules of the C&CC curfews. smile

If you could put a huge sign on your windscreen advising that sliding door vans should keep clear, I will gladly find a pitch further away from you when we arrive...wink

I was just thinking that to pay for nightime security it was unlikely to be a hundred unit site! smile

What are ' the more rigid rules of the C&CC curfews' Brue?

I have recently joined C&CC and no idea if I will use any this year or not until I start planning trips for next year during this November. If they have a site in an ideal location on one of 3 general tour routes/areas then I probably will.

I think it's a "no movement rule" between 11pm and 7am so we avoid the C&CC if we need an early departure or a night out. Seems to work out ok, just need to be aware. I have felt slightly "trapped" on site by this rule before I adjusted to the idea, so it's no good if you need an early start for a long journey etc.

Thanks Brue. Wouldn't be a problem for us. No longer do long runs or early morning/late tide fishing.

Brue, seriously.....'trapped' by a 7am leaving time 'for a long journey'?

having just done 3 days of long journeys (probably far longer than most folk would be doing in the uk) right across Spain and France, the earliest we got away was just after 8am from Irun...

do folk (yourselves...?) really get on the road before 7am?

'good effort' if you do.....but dont do it next to me or the OPwink

Will not use a CCC (after a bad experience) and it does appear strange and I would probably feel the same, and also 11 isn't exactly late is it for adults? Not a regular occurrence on site but I can remember being back later than that (theatre, meal, vising family, late ferry from Northern Ireland, up to Orkney from Inverness... ) . What happens? do you have to park in the car park?

An as stated left before 6 (car only)

Yes we do sometimes leave a site early just as we sometimes leave home early too, 5am from home for the last 7 hr trip north. Have caught a few early morning ferries too which needed early departures from home or a site.

We've also come back to a site late due to an event but have left the car in the car park (if there is one) and walked to the pitch. When we had a caravan we'd hitch it up the night before on occasions ready to leave a site early. Have seen people do all sorts of things, as long as they are considerate with noise it's up to them how they want to travel. We're all different aren't we? smile

I think the CCC rule is a good one.

If you need to leave or arrive outside of these hours talk to the wardens. They will ask you to park at the entrance, if possible to avoid disturbing others.

We were once at Blackhorse Farm on the ferry section where people come and go at all hours. As we went to bed it was pretty full but when we got up they had almost all gone and we had heard nothing!!!

Yes.  We've experienced it here too and I can't recall being disturbed either.  We only once left early when we crossed back to Kent from France in the early evening.  We stopped at BH Farm overnight but wanted to get a good start through London the next day, before the morning rush - not sure if we successfully managed it!!  😀
