Short term secure storage in Northern Europe
Does anyone know of or have experience of a secure caravan storage business in northern France,Germany or Holland? After many years of schlepping our caravan through the tunnel to avoid the July August Rush we are searching for a secure site to store our van for six weeks or so during the euro hols. Security is paramount as our last unavoidable short term storage in Suffolk resulted in our brand new van being stolen. Any information would be welcome.

There are plenty of secure storage places in the area around Calais, ideal for an easy pick up and drop off. Have a look on LeBonCoin website for ideas/prices. Most seem to charge around 30 euros a month.
We store our caravan in the south of France - because that's where we choose to holiday. We're on a site which tows to a pitch, and sets up (levels and puts in position) the caravan, and our inclusive cost is 180 euros a year, plus we pay for nights we actually spend on site (though not for the odd week when we leave the caravan on a pitch between visits).
There are issues of insurance, etc., which you need to take into consideration, and make sure that your caravan is insured, and the gas bottles removed for safety.

There is a lovely little CL type site near Saumur which has under cover storage. We stayed there a few years ago and left our van for 3 weeks over the Christmas period. It is English owned, although different English owners since we were there. Well worth a look though.
