Towing to Spain advice
Hi all. We have decided on l amfora site in Spain for next summer. I'm crossing Dover calais.
Disney and a one night stop past clermont ferrand on way down.
Coming back I'm looking at two one night stops to get back to calais.
Last one being around abbeville.
What are people's suggestions on routes and sites near the motorways.

If you are using the A75 going south and want a change on the way back then you can try the A20 on the way home. The distances are similar.
Overnight sites we would decide on the day in question by looking through the site guide at midday. I don't think you need decide them nine months in advance, but you can spend a wet winter day looking through the book and drawing a short list of possibles.

You might prefer to miss out crossing the Millau bridge by diverting through the town - you would get stunning views of the viaduct from below, save the toll charges, and set your fears to rest all at the same time. Three benefits in one.
Another popular site going south, 40 miles north of St Flour is Camping Mas at Issoire and I doubt if it is ever full. But there are other possibilities further on.

Hi, used the A75 route this year and stayed at Camping Du Mas but the site at Saint Flour is only 40 miles away. We chose Du Mas due to the proximity of places to eat and refuel as we were meeting up with friends.
The A75 drive is very enjoyable and the Millau Bridge spectacular but not at all scary due to its size and height you don’t really look down but out.Our travel companions however were not thrilled with the €27 toll for their MH so we went via the town on the way back which is very straightforward and allows refuelling at supermarkets if that’s needed.
We stayed at L’Amfora a few years ago and liked the site which had good size pitches, was on the beach and had excellent spotless sanitary blocks.

We are just on our way North having been to the South coast of France. We used the A75 over the Millau bridge as said not scary at all as the sides are so high you don't get a feeling of being high up.
We often use L'Amfora site but only in May/June when we can use camping cheques, its a good site, big mind. The Dutch and Germans also love it, the last time we were there we were lucky to get a pitch at all and that was at the end of May. Agree about the sanitary blocks, they have to be the best we have ever used anywhere (sad eh!)

Sad but true! I can still remember, some 50+ years ago, Dad going to look at the toilet blocks before deciding if a site was suitable and whilst general standards are better some do stand out.
At L’Amfora my wife was told off by staff for picking up a mop after showering “lady, that is our job”. We initially thought it was coincidence that staff were at the block the same time as we were and then realised that they actually stayed there constantly cleaning.

Not so dear as that. Class 2 toll for car and caravan was €14.60 in summer season, mid June to mid September this year, and €11.60 for the rest of the year. Maybe a small price rise in 2018.

has anyone stayed at chateau camping la grange fort at le pradeaux. south of Clermont ferrand.
or if not recommend one that is very near to a75 thanks and south of Clermont. I'm travelling from Disney to lamfora so that seems somewhere middle ish

Camping Mas at Issoire is 22 miles south of Clermont right beside junction 12 of the A75, with supermarket, fuel and food very close. It's a clean, well run and spacious site, with easy access.
I don't know Camping Grange Fort but there are 52 reviews on Trip Advisor - some say excellent, others say terrible ! Take your pick.
