To day I had notification from ADAC as from 1st October they will no longer be able to take new Members who are not German citizens, with a German Postal Address.  This applies to all countries not just the UK

It is very sad but for existing Members good news is no change you will still be able to renew as usual every year.

Thank you for the phone call today – and thanks again for your understanding. 

Dear Members & interested Persons, 

Unfortunately from the 1st of October 2017 the ADAC Mobile Club in Germany is not allowed to take out any new memberships for interested people with a residence outside from Germany. 

For existing Members is it still possible to renew the existing breakdown cover insurance over the phone and stay as a member in ADAC Mobile Club.

    Sounds like a straightforward underwriting issue to me.   If your customers are resident in Germany, the vast percentage of breakdowns will be within Germany.  You statistically allow for how often German residents travel outside the country.   For customers resident outside Germany, the vast majority of breakdowns WILL occur OUTSIDE Germany and incur greater costs due to having to buy the services from a local provider.  (In the case of UK members, repatriation where necessary must be particularly significant).
