Well done, DD. Which route did you use? Time now to put your feet up with a large glass of your favourite tipple.

Nice day in Pembrokeshire. Drove over to Broad Haven for a walk along the Coastal path and then onto Nolton Haven for another. Flyte had a dip in the tide too.

Did you follow the Pyg track? You need to have the right equipment, compass etc. It's easy to get lost when in a fog due to low lying cloud.

We've got up to a rather dull, grey and wet morning this morning. It's raining as I type this. We're just having our first cup of tea.

We're next due our two days away from this site on 9th October. So we've booked two nights at the Cirencester CMC site from 9th to 11th. We've got the caravan booked in with Chipping Sodbury Caravans to have the fridge repaired on 11th October before heading back to this site. Day after 12th I'm due to return to work.

We plan to visit my cousin this afternoon to collect our mail and then go for a drive in the Shogun to WWT Arundel if the weather is ok by then.

I just checked the BBC weather forecast for Worthing. It looks like the rain will stop by the afternoon and just light cloud. So hopefully, it will be dry enough for our walk around WWT and maybe a trip, on the boat safari. We were lucky to spot a Kingfisher last time. My wife got a photo of it from her Iphone.

No newspaper to collect from reception this morning as we didn't order one.

Off to work shortly,  only until lunchtime as we are off to the south coast for a few days, smile It's been a busy week so looking forward to the break. Forecast not too good, but have downloaded a couple of ebooks just in case.laughing Baked aDorset Apple Cake to take with us, seeing as we will be in the edge of Dorset and I had lots of apples to use.

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend. smile

Doing  a  bit  of  resting  too  BB  but  not  in  such  salubrious  surroundings  !!

Evening  meal  on  Wednesday  disturbed  by  Smoke  Alarm   screeching  its  head  off  and  would  not  reset yell --  could  not  be  my  cooking,  just  two  hard  boiled  eggs  for  my  saladsurprised  so  leapt  up  onto  the  chair  &  unplugged  the  offending  item  to  remove  the  battery.

Investigating  later  it  shewed  up  as  faulty  but  Replacement  due  in  2017  --  10  year  life  now  time  expired.frown

Recovered  lightweight  steps  from  she  who  had  borrowed  them  and  removed  the  2nd  alarm  on  first  floor  which  had  an  identical  expiry  date  so  off  to  B & Q  hunting  for  Identical  replacements.  Found  two  so  did  not  have  to  do  a  re-mount  just  clip  the  new  ones  into  the  original  base  plates.  No  further  disturbances  to  my  culinary / dietary  procedures  so  just  two  bits  to  dispose  of.

Have  to  admit  to  being  surprised  that  the  new  ones  came  with  batteries  included  --  Now  there  is  a  novelty  laughing

Another  brew  and  Monthly  accounts  to  do  now  so  if  you  pass  by  and  hear  a  sobbing  noise  you'll  know  why  cry  !!

Speakers turned up to listen to Chris Rea's new album - released and delivered today. And then I'll turn the sound down a bit for The Young 'uns "Strangers" - also in the post today.

Both wonderful  and we get to see them live soon.

Those of you who read my posts may remember my mentioning tidying up of some important visitors last week. Well, here's a photo of the result.

Weather great here as well BB. We are also on a do nothing day having spent yesterday at the Puy-de-Dome. We drove there in the morning and spent the day, then drove just up the road to a site at Riom. Forecast is for 27c this afternoon cool heading up to Tours tomorrow for the night. Ferry booked for Wednesday hoping to spend Monday and Tuesday looking around the Somme area OH wants to do some of the WWI sites. Turned out to be a good trip after the first 10 days or so of miserable weather. Will have to 'do' the places we missed another time, good excuse for another trip wink Enjoy the last of your time at Benicassim.

Great result Goldie, well done to all at the farm.

Don't know if you're interested but Runrig have announced that their final concert will be held in Stirling's City Park on 18 August 2018. The tickets sold out within 4 mins and can now be bought from touts at 20 time their face value. Disgusting!!

We had a nice afternoon out. We used the Shogun for two reasons, firstly we needed to keep the battery charged and secondly, the ground around our pitch was soggy, so the need for the 4 wheel drive to get on and off.

We visited my cousin, collected our mail, amongst which was my wife's new provisional driving licence which she was delighted to receive. Now it's just a question of getting her booked in for some lessons with a driving school.

Next, we drove to WWT Arundel. Luckily, it stopped raining just as we arrived. We went on the boat safari. Normally the boat carries between 8 to 10 people but it was so quiet this time that we were the only 2 on it.

Next we walked on towards the Ramsar Hide. There were plenty of waders to see there. We st there for a while before walking further along to the Lapwing Hide. We didn't see any wildlife there but it did have some lovely views over the hills and plenty of Autumn colour in the trees.

Next we visited the Sandmartin Hide which was a bit more lively with waders. Then on to the Scrape Hide where there were just three Mallards. The path from the Scrape Hide to the Reedbed Hide was closed due to some maintenance work going on, so we had back track to the Visitor Centre to get to the other side.

We went past the Visitor Centre to reach the Discovery Hide which was much more lively as usual. Plenty of waders of all kinds there. Then on to the Woodland Hide where we saw Great Tits and Blue Tits on the feeders.

From there, we did the Reedbed Walk up to the Reedbed Hide where there were just three Mallards, two male and one female. After some time there, we walked back to the Visitor Centre to the car park for our journey home.

We had arrived at WWT at 14:15 and by the time we left, it was 17:15, just 15 minutes before closure.

It was a lovely afternoon out in plenty of Autumn colour and temperatures that were comfortable for walking around.

The weather seems to be improving here. There are patches of blue sky appearing outside our caravan window. We collected our Saturday newspaper from reception this morning. There's enough reading in it to last for a whole weekend so didn't order the Sunday paper for tomorrow.

We found out that next years seasonal pitches can be booked from 8th November and that this time it can be done online.

Safely back last night from our holiday in Spain. I know some of you have been following my posts, but apart from them I've steered clear of other threads on CT. So imagine my delight looking in today for the first time in a fortnight - a thread complaining about dogs/owners, closed by Rowena,  a thread complaining about Rowena closing threads, a thread about Sunday Departures, a thread about booking specific pitches, oh, and another thread complaining about dogs/owners.

It's like we've never been away!

    Happy Days! wink
