We went shopping at Tesco Extra. My wife bought some new clothes from their F&F range and some new wellies as well, plus some grocery shopping. So we spent over £60 in all. I used my Tesco debit card to get  double points on the total bill.

We've just got up and having a cup of tea. It looks a bit grey and overcast this morning. Perhaps it will brighten up later.

We had boiled eggs for breakfast this morning, for a change, using the new egg cups that we bought in yesterdays shopping.

Got back today from four weeks away in the motorhome. Most of it spent in Wales although bad weather forced us to deviate from our original plan of exploring the coast down the west side. We got as far as Barmouth but that was about it. The new Morris Leisure site in Llanberis is really top notch. The last couple of sites we stayed at in Wales were Tredegar House and Brecon Club sites. Really liked Brecon. Tredegar was a nice little site but I didn't really feel it was as convenient to Cardiff as we thought it might be but we did get there for the day.

We visited the Historic Houses Association, Parham House and Gardens in the afternoon. It was well worth the visit. It was open from 14:00 to 17:00 with last admissions at 16:30 but you need to allow at least an hour as there is lots to see, plenty of paintings, tapestries and a large number of rooms open to viewing with period furniture and furnishings. You can also see deer in the parkland through the windows. There is a tea room and shop there too. In the garden area there is a plant shop and ice cream for sale.

The weather wasn't brilliant when we visited, rather grey and overcast but at least it was not raining. There was plenty of space to park in the car park which was just a short walk away from the house. It was quite busy as there were a lot of other people visiting. Plenty of space in the surrounding parkland for walks. Plenty of benches for seating and picnic benches too plus a picnic area near the car park.

No-one else was posting on here yesterday morning and there are limitations on what can be discussed on here anyway! If you want more interesting discussions then you need to stop pressing the report button and complaining about it!

I have previously tried posting about more interesting matters such as things that were happening at that time relating to my previous employer but eventually I stopped because it was forbidden. Recently I discussed about finance options and how these affect all of us, that became forbidden too. So what do you expect?

To answer your question, triky auto, the supermarkets and grocers do. What you choose to eat for breakfast affects their food sales. If you eat eggs, they sell more eggs, if you eat cereal, they sell more cereal. Their business and profits are affected by our food choices and decisions. Does that answer your question about who gives a toss?

    Point or pointless?

Going back a few months, it was said on here that I shouldn't discuss anything that I was up to re: previous employment because it was a court matter. I always thought that something doesn't become a court matter unless a case is taken to court. At that time, IanH simply advised of that possibility. It was never actually taken to court, so how could it possibly be considered as contempt of court? At that time, it was simply a discussion about the options available given those circumstances.

KjellNN advised that as that job had come to an end, I would have nothing to lose by reporting that employer to HMRC, which I accordingly did. As far as I know, all HMRC have done is look into it, arranged a meeting with that employer and tell me that they will get back to me to let me know the outcome. That was 2 months ago. I have not heard anything since. There has been no indication at all about anything to do with any court. So I'm somewhat bewildered as to what the fuss over here, on this forum, was all about?

Frankly, I'm no longer interested in my previous employer and whether or not their behaviour is legal. I'm no longer working for them or being paid by them, so what they do no longer has any relation to me.  I have a job with another employer and receiving pay from the new employer and have no time to dwell on another employers past misdeeds. I've left it all to HMRC to decide. If and when they communicate with me, I will respond. Otherwise, let sleeping dogs lie, as the saying goes!

We've just got up to another grey morning. The sky is completely obscure with no sign of any sunshine appearing! The kettle's on now for a pot of tea.

Clever idea, CY! It's a good way of recycling something that would otherwise be of no use.

Hi David..a little late now I know seeing as your back home..but there is a small caravan site at Bute park Cardiff..15 min walk through parkland into town. Not a club site but a very pleasant site all the same..cafe and bike hire on site.

Thanks, I did think about that as an option but if it's the one I am thinking of it seem quite expensive so I opted for Tredegar Park before realising it was probably a false economy. Don't misunderstand me we thought Tredegar House was a nice site but from the point of visiting Cardiff it is not as convenient as perhaps suggested by the site information. The bus option seemed a long walk from the site and also a long journey. We opted for a taxi to Newport Station and the train to Cardiff. Obviously a bit more expensive than the bus option but more suited to us. If we go back to Cardiff the site you suggest will be top of the list.

We've stayed there, lovely park, especially for cycling. It would be great if one of the clubs would take it on as Cardiff City council spend the minimum on it. It's in an excellent spot for just about everything in Cardiff including a ferry ride down to the waterfront.

Wonderful location!  They class 'hardstandings' as everyone parked on the grass around a road......or at least, that is how it was the last time we were there.  laughing

Yes, I remember that, please keep your front wheels on the road. laughing Shame, it could be excellent there with some TLC.

I must admit it was tatty a few years ago but it has improved. We have never stayed there as we live in Cardiff...but while out walking we'll stop off and have a cuppa at the café now and again... but great location for town and The Bay.

We visited another Historic House Association property this afternoon called St. Marys House and Garden in Bramber. It was an excellent afternoon out with lovely weather. The House itself was full of fascinating history and cosy looking rooms. From outward appearance it looks like a small Tudor building with the traditional beams and low ceilings but once inside it is much more massive than first appearances, especially when you enter the music room with its Grand piano. Well worth a visit. The gardens were lovely too.

With precision timing and 2 cars we managed to collect 5 grandchildren from 2 different schools at the same time this afternoon. Eldest grand-daughter who is doing her teacher training course also arrived later. My goodness she is going to be a good teacher. She soon got them organised into a game of dominoes and there were no arguments. It was a lovely afternoon.
