Why so many dogs and Inconsiderate owners??

and what would be that name then Tinwheeler??
My post was a request to dog owners to be more considerate to non dog owners based on my experience at Freshwater East but you will find similar experiences across the CMC estate.

"Whether or not the dog policy was quoted in the OP is a little irrelevan...."
I don't believe it is irrelevant, WTG. People are quick enough to shout about what the club should do to meet their own individual requirements but fail to detail, in this case, the fact that the warden said the club has a policy (It's the first I've heard of such a policy, incidentally) or that the matter had even been discussed with the warden. If the foregoing is the case, then the club are being active and not passive about the issue.
The result was a very one sided post with the appearance of having a go at all dog owners and berating the club. We can all be forgiven for thinking it was posted with deliberate intent to wind people up, especially as the impression created is one of sites being littered with dog poo. Perhaps I'm one of the lucky ones but I've yet to see any dog poo on club sites.

See my post to WTG, Jem. It answers most of yours.
No, I will not see similar across all CAMC sites. In that, you are totally incorrect.
It could be said that someone who posts part of the story in such a way as to provoke debate/argument is guilty of troll like behaviour. Only you know your true intent.

I am with you 100 percent WTG. It wasn't only an appeal for more consideration but also making a suggestion for dog free areas, not unreasonable in my view so while further information was useful it is irrelevant to the orignal post. No wonder new or potential posters to the forum are made to feel unwelcome when they are accused of stirring the pot just because they suggested something different.

Oh, PD, you know better than that.
That's rather ironic coming from one who often refuses to give straight answers and has posted very misleading statements.

"I think" indicates it's your opinion, WTG, as "I don't believe" indicates mine. We both gave our views, that's all.
I haven't doubted your word on the poo incident but it doesn't alter the fact that I haven't seen any.

A few questions for you...
Firstly, do you honestly think your post, whether it is merely remarking of your recent experiences or venting your spleen, will change anything, anything at all?
Do you think the Club will honestly consider segregating dog owners on Club sites? Honestly, do you?
Do you think, despite the limited reach to the membership that this forum provides, and lets face it, it is very limited with what is a tiny proportion of the overall membership that contribute and read it’s content, would in any way have an effect on the minority that may or may not, have the disregard you highlight when it comes to dog ownership?
Do you think the Club would wish to alienate a massive core of its paying membership, by restricting or limiting choice to dog owning members when they are operating in such a competitive market?
Finally, I think you’ve made your point, as have many before you and yet, nothing has changed. You would get greater reach to your complaint by writing to the magazine editor in the hope your story is published in the letters section. This thread could run and run, page after page. The next time you visit a club site, a dog will bark, it will poo and not always be cleaned up afterwards and occasionally it might pee in an inconvenient place. What are you going to do?

Have to say, the OP reads like a rant to me, and I suspect many others read it like that. Only now is the full story emerging.
As I was taught as a child, its not what you say but how you say it.
It also still confirms to me the anti dog brigade is still on the march

WTG, after carelessly speed reading yet another dog thread, I mistook you for the OP. I apologise.
That said, my points are open to anyone who has a grievance towards; dogs, their owners (inconsiderate or otherwise) and the way the Club regard both and the rules they apply.
Of all the topics covered on this forum, dogs come up time and again.
It is a likely fact that caravan and motorhome ownership is as a result of dog ownership. They will always have a presence on site and that will never change. Where there are dogs, there will be a varying degree of ownership responsibility. This won’t change either.

Good post Nigel. There are good and bad examples of human behaviour in all walks of life.
Incidentally, we just love touring, and would do it with or without dog ownership. We also take our dogs into cottages, hotels, b&b establishments as well, and with a bit of research, it is just as easy to find dog friendly holiday accommodation away from touring sites. Never had a single complaint, and we are repeat visitors to many of those we choose.

I am sure that this thread is being very closely monitored by HQ, so it would be interesting to know if the middle paragraph quoted above, regarding the three reports and membership rescinded is actually factual? How does it work, how is it monitored, can it be appealed?
It would actually be progress if it is, also for the other issues that cause so much annoyance on Club Sites?

Just as local councils have similar difficulties, the Club will be opening themselves up to all kinds of internal issues if chastising members, unless actually caught in the act of dog fouling by a warden, or video evidence to support such claims

I can see it now in my mind Caravans with awnings rigged with external CCTV systems disguised as solar fairy lights

That takes curtain twitching to a whole new level.

It's probably already happening.......... 📹

It's not a story, it's a factual account of an experience at Freshwater East site, it is also exactly the same as my site review. If you were one of those inconsiderate dog owners who was on the site when I was you need to look at your behaviour. This was discussed with the Wardens who may have passed details of certain members to head office, I certainly hope so.
I am not anti dog, but I am very much anti dog owners who seem to think it's ok to let fido bark uncontrollably and to foul anywhere they like when the club has provided a perfectly adequate dog walk to 'exercise'.
I will continue to highlight such experiences as I pay my membership fees and therefore expect to have a pleasant relaxing experience which I am entitled to, as I am entitled to my opinion.

So why post it in "Stories"?

On the rare occasions that I read club site reviews I tend to skim the rants about other users and their dogs because they are pretty pointless.
If it makes people feel better to get things off their chest in a ranty review then crack on but it's not going to make any difference. There's no guarantee the culprits will read the review and even if they do the chances of them changing their behaviour is pretty slim
I've read a few reviews today that end with 'rant over'
Perhaps the club should introduce the equivalent of green ink for the reviews that say nothing about the site and the area

It make no difference what section it's posted in as long as it gets the point raised and you seem to be taking quite an interest. If you have no interest in this subject and my post then scroll on. Simples.

"If you were one of those inconsiderate dog owners who was on the site when I was you need to look at your behaviour."
Not me I'm Afraid. In fact, for what it's worth if I had have been there I would also have been speaking to the wardens about it if it was as bad as you state. I also go away to enjoy the peace and quite believe it or not.
Your idea of a site review and mine differ widely

Oh, I have an interest in anyone who posts in such an intolerant, irrational, unfriendly manner and makes points that are completely at odds with my experience. You are now definitely into the realms of posting for the sake of argument.
If you really want to get your point across you should contact the club direct. The forum and stories only reach a small fraction of the membership and are not often read by the club staff. You are wasting your time here but have succeeded in your apparent aim.

This is my idea of a review for a site to help others. and one I left recently. please feel free to take ideas from it.
"Just spent 5 nights at this site, I have to say I can't understand why some reviewers mark it down? The pitches are well laid out and you can choose to stay on the main open grass area near the wardens hut or the many grass or hard standing ones in among the wooded areas. Only down side of the latter is it's quite hilly when it comes to filling your water canisters and getting rid of your grey water. The wardens were very pleasant to deal with and keep the site and facilities immaculate. There is a great dog walk down the side of the site that leads in to a large wild meadow, three fields down. It is quite remote but does have a local bus service with a stop near the gate. there are two local pubs The George inn & The Silver Plough. (not within walking distance) The Silver Plough being the better of the two. Both are also dog friendly if you wish to eat there. There is also a very large, well stocked Budgen's at the petrol station near the Army base, this is about a mile and half from the site and appeared to have everything you could ever need. There is also a large Caravan dealers/repairers close by if you encounter any issues with your outfit during your stay. Not a great site for younger children unfortunately due to lack of green space. Also when deciding on a pitch, if you wish to get a decent TV signal be mindful of the very tall trees in the wooded areas. We stayed on Pitch 27 and the signal was a bit hit and miss but we didn't go there to watch the TV anyway :-) Would we go again? without question, if only for the peace and quite and to watch the hovering Red Kites."
