Another lovely day here, takes a bit to warm up but then it very nice. Sunday market on this morning so went and had a look, then went and sat on the sea wall looking out into the bay nice and warm with a breeze. Back to site and decided to give the van a quick wash just to remove all the sand dust. Lunch over now OH watching the GP from Singapore. Feeling nice and relaxed, few departures and arrivals today but seems to be quieter.
Malcolm, why on earth dont you get out and enjoy the sea breeze, go for a walk. I really can't understand why you spend your days eating and sleeping and complaining about the heat.
Having 6 weeks off work i would have thought you would have made the most of it. By the way not eating between diner and breakfast is normal, i would not be happy if my OH was getting up during the night and making toast/sandwiches and pots of tea, he would find himself sleeping in the awning if he did.

Does anyone feel that we are being deliberately 'wound up'? Lol. Did anyone else have a child in school with them who wound everyone up and when everyone retaliated, the teacher would intervene and tell everyone to stop? That always made the 'offender' ten times worse now that he/she had the teacher on his/her side?
Just wondering......

We got the awning spread out over the rotary drier in the garden in lovely sunshine and got the outside dry. We then decided to turn it over as the inside was still wet with condensation. I then spread the groundsheet out on the patio and gave it a good wash and left it to dry in the sun. 15 minutes later the heavens opened so now all is spread out in the garage and hopefully it will be drier weather tomorrow.
. It is still raining.
So glad you have got drier weather today KjNN. Our son was at university in York and we always found the sites round there expensive and also had to book early if we wanted to go up to see him which wasn't always easy when trying to deal with the life of a student!
So glad your OH has got the car put back together again Helen. A very good idea to take yourself off to Lidl out of the way.
I had to laugh at your experience at the concert last night brue, especially the predictive text.

Very good day today at Trelissick. Mainly sunny, one little shower while we were having lunch.
Very busy when we arrived, had to queue for a parking space. I think everyone was out and about after so many days of rain!
We had a look round the house first, it's a beautiful situation for a house, great views. Then we had lunch before exploring the gardens, went over the little bridge to the smaller area, then back and all the way out to the summerhouse beyond and above the ferry.
Lots of huge trees, the Hydrangeas were good too.
Driving home, we went the long way round via St Just, rather than the shorter route via all the narrow lanes.

Sounds like folk have had decent days, possibly except milliehull 😉.
Lovely lunch and catch up with friend from Northumberland 4.5 hours of real gossip. The phone call only goes so far. Been friends more than 40 years and haven't managed a face to face for a couple of years 😲
Granddaughter going in in 2 hours for grommets operation, hopefully hear it's all gone well before we go to bed.

There's nothing quite like spending time with the grandchildren OP. Memories to treasure.
I hope your grand-daughter's op goes well bakers2.
Our day hasn't been all bad bakers2 as we had a lovely catch up with daughter, 2 grand-daughters and eldest grand-daughter's boyfriend this morning and eldest son popped round this afternoon😊

JVB I have seen on the local news this evening that a paraglider crashed into The Wellington hotel in Cromer at lunchtime and was airlifted to hospital. Poor soul, hope they will be OK. Did you see what happened?

I've been properbpoorliy the last few days with a cold. Friday I was in bed for 8.30. Not going to sleep says I. Next thing it was 10 hours later at 6.30am.
Drove here to Hebden bridge Saturday, had lunch and then did some shopping. Today stayed in. Should be better tommorow

We visited the Elddis factory open day in Consett this weekend. I didn't think it was as good as previous years, far fewer vans on display and the weather was like mid-winter but they can't help that! No freebies either. I think many changes from the Hymer takeover will start creeping in for the 2019 models, the buy out was too late in the day for this latest crop of vans.
Today was spent exploring some of Hadrians wall and then an hour down the allotment before the rain set in. Back to work tomorrow, Birmingham this week for a couple of days then back at home in the office 😊

Kjell, did you try Cherrytree Cottage site? Here's the link again for you, should you want to try and get a booking there.

Another decent day here in N.Wales, although we did have a little drizzly rain early on. The sun did come out eventually and the temp got up to 17C. Stocked up with food and fuel this morning for our move to Cardigan Bay area tomorrow then went to another N/T property, Erddig, for a couple of walks. Back in the van this evening I paid our car tax online. Didn't take me more than 5 mins total, really simple. Had I realised how easy it was I'd have waited another couple of weeks before doing it.
We will certainly be returning to this AO Commercial site again, one of the best we've ever stayed on.

Just got home after 900+ miles over 3 weeks.
Sadly have to sort out the caravan, clean from top to toe, repair and make good any damage.
Isn't if funny how a van, 11 yrs old, reaches the stage where the plastic 'wood' film starts peeling and no matter how often you apply glue, or even superglue, it still peels? Well that's Sterling for you.
Do other brands suffer the same sort of problems?

It has about 15 H/S pitches, and although it's close to the ring road we've never really noticed any road noise. I know a couple of other CT members who have used it and found it suited their needs.

We did what you suggested. After breakfast, we went for a walk along the promenade. It was excellent weather for it, sunshine with a little cloud cover and a nice cool breeze. We walked up to the pier and sat there for a cup of tea. Then we walked back to the hotel and got back by 12 noon in time for lunch. We sat out on the terrace with the sea view and had a cold beer, very refreshing after the walk! Then we had a three course lunch of Tomato and Pepper soup followed by Roast Beef with all the trimmings and a glass of red wine to go with it, followed by bread and butter pudding.
After lunch, we took another walk along the sea front to Steyne Gardens where there was a food and drink festival. By this time it was 5 p.m. so we had our evening meal there of a spicy chicken and noodle dish. Excellent taste!
After that the weather changed and there was a light shower, so we sheltered for a while in a covered seating area on the promenade. After the rain stopped, we headed back to the hotel and climbed the several flights of stairs to get back to our room. Then we watched the latest episode of Victoria after which it was 10 p.m. and time for bed.
So we thoroughly enjoyed our day. Now it's our last night in the Burlington Hotel. I have woken up and just had a cup of tea and some biscuits. I think that will do me until it's time for breakfast. As it's a weekday, breakfast is at 07:30 a.m. for a full English breakfast.
Our free parking for the Smart car expires at 9 a.m., so we plan to check out soon after breakfast and drive back to the club site to sign back in for our next 21 nights.

We had a Traditional Full English breakfast at the hotel of fruit juice, cereal, followed by Cumberland sausage, bacon, egg mushrooms, hash brown and baked beans, toast, butter and marmalade plus yoghurt with a choice of flavours. There were a selection of fruits as well. So we didn't go hungry!
After that we checked out. All that food and drink over the two days added another £110 to the bill. So more points for my Tesco credit card spend!
On the way back we stopped at the surgery, so that my wife could book her doctors appointment and then at Tesco Express to buy some milk. We got back to the caravan site and signed back in just after 9:00 a.m. and paid £1.70 for our newspaper order for tomorrows Daily Telegraph.
Now we're back at the caravan having made a full pot of tea, using 4 PG Tips pyramid shaped tea bags served in large mugs instead of the tiny hotel room tea cups with just one tea bag! Now at last I can get some proper thirst quenching!

I bet it's a lot less cost than what we paid for our two nights away in a hotel!
