That's right, Bakers2. I remember it well! It was too hot then and our aircon was out of order at the time. What a contrast this September is compared to last year. The irony of it is that now our aircon is fixed and working, we don't need it. We need heating instead!

We've just got up to a lovely, sunny morning this morning. The wind has calmed down too! We've just made a pot of tea which is brewing as I type this.

AB hope it all works out for your OH.  Good advice about going to the CAB but the employer should give you a package outlining whats available.  You could also make an appointment to speak to an adviser at the job centre (or whatever they are called now)

Bit dull here this morning, if it doesn't rain I will take Mrs One to her ladies that lunch then go bird watching for a couple of hours.smile

It's like that Elton John song, artyboo: 'Time on my hands could mean time spent with you.' Perhaps it could mean more caravan holidays! There are certainly plenty of nice places to visit and the weather is getting better if today is anything to go by!

No 4:45 am alarm this morning - but 03:45.

An early start so my husband could get milked and off to Westmorland County Show as soon as possible. Slightly delayed by two calvings! One overnight and one just after milking.

Meanwhile the rest of Team Strickley are already on site. Our son, grandson and a family friend spent the night in the cattle tent and were up almost as early getting the cows ready for judging.

That is an early start, Goldie! I got up in the night last night and had two cups of tea and a sandwich but went back to bed soon after!

That reminded me that I forgot to mention my pet mouse, Elvis. He died a week ago. He was 'caught in a trap'

That's really good to hear and to know. Cheaper than an excess 😆. Did you get your other jobs sorted? Are you able to plan a tip out soon?

Well apparently there's still plenty of choice as there are 35 CMC sites open all year from what I've been told in a recent email!

Anyhow, it will soon be time for me to collect my morning newspaper.

Cows looking lovely Goldie. Good luck at the show. We used to go to Great Yorkshire on a regular basis, always loved walking down the lines in the cattle shed, watching them jet washing contestants! My favourite classes were the pigs, would love a go at that, stick and a board, "here piggy, piggy!" There was mayhem one year, one got loose and did a runner, no one hurt, just a very tired pig!

Hope you come home with lots of rosettes, including the big one!

Woke to a dull and overcast day today but by the time breakfast was over the sun was out so we went for a bike ride. The wind came back after lunch so we stayed in the van for a couple of hours to stop us getting sand blasted. Now calming down again thanks goodness.

Time to move on again to pastures new so we are moving up the coast a short distance to Cape Agde.

The wi-fi here at Sandringham is hit and miss, mostly miss😕so I will catch up on everyone's news when I get home. Just to say that despite some 'challenging' weather we are still standing and having a good time. Lots of walks by  the sea and a day in Cromer in Tuesday when we went to see the show at the end of the  pier which was even better than ever. Hope you enjoy it next week JVB. Hope everyone has stayed safe and dry in the wind and rain.

Thanks for the reply Triky, whilst not from Faversham area I do know the small redevelopment around Aladdin's Cave and where the ships and barges with history are moored,so I take that was where the fire was.
