Anglesey CL recommendation?
Hi
We are looking to have our first trip out to Anglesey, as there only two of us we quite like the idea of a CL. For those of you who have been to a few of them I'm looking for a recommendation for one close to the coast (not necessarily beach) as we enjoy coastal walking but also with good access as it our first attempt at towing a caravan to a site. A local pub would also be welcome:)
Thanks
Simon

My wife and I have used the CL at Tyddyn Pwrpas (the Tacla Taid Anglesey Motor museum), Newborough for over seventy nights over the last five or so years. There is a loo and one shower (£1 for 5 minutes); the field is very generous in size and there are lovely views into Snowdonia to the south when the weather is clear.
This CL is situated a couple of miles from the Newborough Forest and also has access to the beach in the south west corner of the island. There is also a pub in the village but we have not used it very often.

We stayed at Pen-y-Llyn CL which is on the south coast just below Holyhead in July 2016 - this was our review:-
Pen-y-Llyn has two sites – a 5 pitch CL and a more commercial site with 15 pitches. The two are quite separate apart from sharing the access road into the sites.
All pitches are well maintained & wide/deep stone hardstandings with power & water points at each location. The grassed areas were well maintained and there was a welcome secure dog walking area to allow the hounds to run free.
As others have said, the beach is about a 20 minute walk away but then you have a wide sandy shoreline all the way to Rhosneigr where there are shops & hostelries. It is also a “dog friendly” beach. One thing to be aware of [& we should have read Catherine’s welcome pack!] is that there is a creek running across the beach near Rhosneigr which needs to be forded! So be prepared to get wet feet!
The closeness to RAF Valley does mean that there is quite a bit of aircraft noise during the weekdays with the planes doing circuits. This could be a bit intrusive if you were on site all during the day but we were away for most of our time there and they don’t fly at weekends.
Overall, a lovely CL with caring & approachable owners who ensure that you have a pleasant stay.
There is a hotel close by which serves non-residents
Hope that is of some help.

Have you thought of using the CC's Cae Mawr site? It's just like a big CL, no toilet block but H/S & EHU, of course, with a pub at the entrance of the drive down to the site
