Campingplatz Erden, Germany.

We can highly recommend Campingplatz Erden; Erden in the Mosel Valley, nice views over the river looking at the hillside vineyards. Very clean, well run site, free wi-fi and for dog owners a dog station (free bags) and bins. The small village is just a short walk with some nice walks through the vineyards. ACSI site 19 euro, we are on a riverside pitch so paying a supplement, for us 22 euro a night (booked and ‘saved’ for us by our German friends). At the end of the site is a good sized grass area for dogs to run and another dog station, easy to get to the river with the dog. In the village is a greengrocer, post office and lots of wine suppliers, site shop has just a few basic items and wine, good bar. Lidl, Aldi and another large supermarket are 6 miles down the road towards Bernkastel – Kues on the Kues side of the river. The Mosel cycle path runs past the site with good cycle rides each way. Kloster Machern, an old abbey now brewery, bar/café, museum, is 4 miles towards Rachtig, nice meals and their own brewed Weiss Beer.

So, if you are thinking of the Mosel Valley for a holiday a very good site to stay at and not far off the A60.

Hi 41R, I would think so, we travel to Zell on the Moselle from the Hook of Holland and it takes roughly 5.5 hours

Yes, 290 miles from the tunnel terminal, Calais. Left around 8.30am a steady drive with plenty of stops for the dog also including a divert due to the A60 road closure at Prum, arrived at 3.30pm. Just stayed for 8 nights then back into France. Next year going to Bad Durkelm for a week then back to Erden again for a week or maybe longer, then France for 3 or 4 nights, then a stop off in South Wales for 4 nights.

Also the walks from the village through the vineyards were very nice, good views of the A60 road extension, construction of a bridge over the Mosel Valley.

    Chris

Erden sounds good. We are just completing two very enjoyable weeks in Luxembourg at 3 different sites (all ACSI) and intend moving to Moselle Valley in 2 days time.

But cannot decide on where to stay.

What is the site like at Zell, Oneputt?

Any recommendations welcome. Trust  there will be spaces with wine festivals all over at this this time of the year and the Dutch taking advantage of the ACSI discounts!

We like it, facilities are very good, if you need it English spoken in reception.  Quiet site with nice views of the river.  Walking distance into town (10 mins) over the bridge with plenty of shops, pubs, cafe etc.. Lidls, Aldi and a massive Globus super store 4ks away.  Think I put a review on Acsi.

    Oneputt,

Are you describing the site at Erden or have you another you are talking about in Zell?

    Thanks
