Packing a caravan for touring

Could someone please advise how to pack a caravan for touring, we are going on a 7 hour journey & I would like to have one night stopover (himself wants to do it in one) but with awnings, ground sheets, chairs & BBQ how do you caravaners manage a stop over.  Our caravan is only a two birth with end bathroom. Any advise from you seasoned tourers

    Travel with as many large items in the back of the car if possible ,or bung it in the car at stopover

    My post agreeing with JVB66 seems to have got lost in the ether!  Yes, keep things simple.  We also have a list to ensure that we do not leave anything; nevertheless, once managed to leave the aquaroll handle behindsealed.  List now says 'aquaroll and handle'!

    Be very aware of your load margin and nose weight as well. stuff can soon add up and you say it's only a 2 berth van?

    As already said, the more in the car the better.......

     

    I cant use my boot space as that is where the dogs go but I fold the rear seats and load it level with the bottom of the rear headrest.

    Our take on this is that if you use it in the van (food, clothes, dishes, etc) you pack it in the van.  Otherwise you pack it in the car.

    We are packing  to go away on Saturday, in the car we have the outside furniture, the awning bits, my tools(which are heavy) , the coolbox (empty) plus camera stuff, computer stuff, and car related stuff.

    In the van we have bedding, clothes, food, cooking utensils, toiletries, all our pills, which is a lot!

    The Aquaroll goes in the car, the Wastemaster goes in the front locker in the caravan.

    Heavy stuff like our trolley jack travels in the car.  As do my heavy tools, plus caravan spares.

    This works for us.
