Uncontrolled children vs uncontrolled dogs

Can't really understand where this thread is going now? children will always be children, we are the responsible adults and have a duty of care to them, be it our own family or those we come in to contact with irrespective of whatever we are doing or where we are. It's a fact of life and a mature, responcible adult assumption as far as I see it?
If you feel that strongly about the interaction / impact they have on your leisure activities go somewhere there are no children. .
It's that simple
No being rude, just saying as I see it
p.s. I was a child some 50 years ago and am sure I P***** of a few adults back then

Tsk, I don't know, some very sloppy usage of the English language on this forum. Gangs, Mafia, every dog related thread always includes the term "pack". Doesn't make for friendly posting.....

i'm amazed Dogs haven't been mentioned yet. Opp's what have I done

Too late. I did it on page 8.

another hint Bunty, unless you have a very thick skin, dont dare criticise ANY aspect of club sites, club life or club whatever.....there are many who will defend it and its 'constitution' to the death.....
you will be browbeathen into submission no matter how small your 'concern'....
take a tip....forget what happened, forget posting about it and concentrate on finding a place to 'van' where you're less likely to be upset by what goes on at the site and what gets posted in return for you 'raising this issue'.....
the sharks circle very quickly in these waters, these days....
have a glass of red.....

Mind your teeth, BB.

That's the deepest irony BB, quoting one of my posts and using it to say don't criticise any aspect of CC! You know we seldom use Club Sites, and aren't exactly fond of the Club's pedantic mind set!
I am puzzled about most aspects of the OP's post title, opening post, and subsequent further posts, but was prepared to be helpful! A read of their Hawes review did help though.....complaining about a dog barking. No, not a dog on the site but some obscure pooch in a house close by the site. Like that's really helpful to future visitors!

TTDA, you misunderstand....i only quoted it for the first clause.....and to add another 'hint'.....no other reason

Not sure why you feel the need for the sneary emoticon MM. We just have a different interpretation of what makes a blind corner. That's just the way of forums, folk have different opinions.
Oh by the way in relation to your other statement,
I drive at such a speed on site that I know I'll be able to stop &/or accommodate them.
Even if a child hits a stationary car at 10 mph. The results can be very severe indeed.

It not a 'sneary' emoticon ..... it's the undecided emoticon (just tried it on a laptop & it failed, but it used to be that if you hovered your mouse over an emoticon, it showed what it was ..... another epic fail on behalf of the CCs so called IT staff)
But if my car car is stationary, I know that I've done everything I can

As you can't hover over them on a pad, I am afraid i was just going by what it looks like. To me this thoughtful chap 🤔 more conveys indecision. But that's the problem with interpretive symbols. They are open to interpretation.🙃
Even if I managed to stop, it would not make me feel a lot better if a young child seriously hurt himself impacting my vehicle. Much better he/she was adequately supervised in the first place. Plus of course, even if you were totally without fault, in a serious incident there would be a police investigation.

They should be neither seen nor heard.
I find pigeons very annoying too.

May I congratulate you BW on your clever choice of thread title.
Any mention of dogs or children on site will give a platform for the usual moaners.
To copy a well used phrase, all that is needed is for the club to enforce the already existing rules via the warden.
BTW, I prefer Alien Vs Predator as a title.

Unless we were taking our grandchildren we would never venture near a club site in the summer school hols. They are full of kids - and that is how it should be, most of us have the rest of the year for a more peaceful time away. When we took our grandchildren, they took their scooters. There were rules, call back every twenty min, so we know you are ok, don't go so fast you can't easily stop and never whizz down a hill. They were between 8 and 10 at the time. No it is not right that 4and5 year olds are racing around on bikes, they are too young and parents should set rules. However kids can't go out on their bikes at home as the roads are too busy and other dangers are too great, so parents and youngsters make the most of it when in a relatively safe environment, and they are on holiday! I have rarely met a rude child on site, most of them are lovely. As for going round in gangs, well this is what kids do, they make friends. In fact they do all the things we did as kids. Now my granddaughters are grown I just wish they were back on their scooters instead of their electrical devices because it's good for them. Yes there are parents who don't bother much but most just want the family to enjoy themselves on holiday. Good that wardens remind members on arrival to watch their speed. As long as children aren't playing ball games near vans and they aren't on my pitch I love seeing them enjoying themselves. But I still don't go in school holidays.

Erm...what repair bill?

M....you would be surprised then at how many little ones are allowed out with older siblings, who are presumably supposed to be looking after them!
We were very surprised at Hunters Moon at the number of little ones that were following the older kids around on bikes quite late into the evening. one even still had wobble wheels on her little bike.
And " roaming the site" is not a bad description, they do go round and round on the site roads racing each other.
And "gangs" , you could call them that , also maybe flocks or hoardes as they do generally go around in large numbers.
A gang in my book is not these days necessarily something bad, just a short, collloquial word often used to describe a number of people.
As I said, I have some sympathy for the OP, who was merely commenting on what was happening on the particular site, and expressing her opinion that it was dangerous for the little children.
That should have been the focus of the discussion, not the words used to describe the situation or to express her opinion.

Probably still trying to get redress through the courts.
However, I think you are being a little harsh. Cannot remember all the details, but did a child on a bike not run into the car while not properly looking where he was going......something like that?
I would be pretty annoyed if that happened to me and the parents first took responsibility then changed their minds. Insurance is high enough these days without having to make a claim for something that was (presumably) not your fault.

Remember, Kj, we only ever heard one side of the story.
