Have a lovely time at Hebden Bridge Helen. Lovely part of the country. We went there many years ago with our first motorhome. Enjoy meeting up with your son and his girlfriend.
Moulesy: I forgot to say in my last post that I thought your photos were lovely. We went to Wimpole Hall walled garden while at Houghton Mill. The dahlias were wonderful.
Enjoy planning your next trip NTH. We are off to Sandringham in 2 weeks. We have just booked to go to the Cromer Pier show one afternoon while we are there. 😊

We've not made up our minds yet. We want to avoid the road holdups around the M6/M5 junction, so may be a Welsh trip followed on by Somerset and the eastwards from there, then back home through the Cotswolds and the M6 toll road.
ET we had to get back here to sort out a few thing that we can't do on-line without the relevant paperwork.
Enjoy your trip to Sandringham, Millie.
Moulsey, I did like your photos. You seem to be getting about quite a bit recently.

, Oh" Quell Disastreaux" today .!! Went to lift a short pontoon from the creek with the 'Case' on the rear back hoe ,only to find one of the hydraulic high pressure hoses had ruptured !! Oil every where !! .After several attempts to undo the couplings (hose & pipes) ,had to resort to an eight foot scaffold pole for enough leverage .Took the old pipe to a supplier ,who made up a new one while I waited ,then back and fitted it all back together ,plus new hydraulic oil.
From 09-30 to 16-30 ,what a day !! .Knackered now ,,,off to bed

We had a hydraulic hose go on a crane during one of our lifting days at the sailing club. Cobbled a temporary repair with a bit of plastic hose and lots of jubilee clips to enable us to finish the day.

Wonderful morning here. Very bright and still. Definite signs of autumn.
Cuppa on the bench at the end of the garden by the pond watching the tits in the uninteresting tree. They always find plenty to interest them 😉 and we have a greater spotted woodpecker 😆. Really excited not seen one before. May have to rename the uninteresting (because it doesn't have a pretty season at all but was there when we moved in and was necessary to screen the garden) to the wildlife tree 😉. Only taken about 30 years to change my mind 😂😂
Enjoy your day folks.

Grey here too Kj, we've had a bit of drizzle but no rain as such yet!
The replaced Velux windows are looking good, didn't take them long at all to fit, arrived at 08:15 finished at 13:00. There was no mess at all very little in the way of noise fitting them as they were the same size. We have a slate roof so just a case of sliding the slates out of the way, remove window, fit new one, put slates back and finish off the inside. Very neat job, the window feels much heavier and solid when opening and turning. The gap in the double glazing is bigger and the frame is better insulated so hoping this winter the heating up there will not be required quiet so much.
Went for a drive in the m/h this morning, haven't driven it for over 12 mths so thought it was time to do a refresher, never know when I might have to drive it. All went well even backed it out from the house and put it back in there on return, feeling quite pleased with myself.
Just having a quick catch up on here before going to the hospital to the see Podiatrist again. Not sure what she will decide this time.
OH now sorting out his clothes ready for the m/h. Most of mine done, just going to alter a pair of jeans that I think are a bit on the short side, going to make them into a pair of crops. They fit well and are comfy so thought why not, perfect for the bike.

Beautiful day here today - sunny and warm but not too hot. Lots of washing done and out on the line and house tidying done after the little hoards (grandchildren ) over the past few days. Paperwork sorted after lunch and we are now going to have a quick trip over to the caravan to pick up one or two bits we left in there and to check it over. Hope this weather lasts over the bank holiday. Not that we have any plans other than to watch two of the grandsons play in a football tournament on Sunday but it is nice to see the sun.

No bank holiday for me! I'll be working today, tomorrow and Sunday. I don't know yet about Monday. They haven't done the rota yet. I may find out tonight! Others will be enjoying their bank holiday weekend with freshly cooked and delivered pizzas which I'll be serving to them!

We're back from our week at New England Bay. We didn't do much (we're those people who hardly leave the site), except eat, drink, sleep and relax. The weather was variable and unpredictable. We managed to sit outside most days and I even got a bit of a tan (probably wind burn).
A few observations about flags -
pros - you can tell which way the wind is blowing before stepping outside, so know where to position your chairs.
cons - on a windy site, your neighbour's flag can be very loud!
solution - turn your music up! (joke).
You can choose where to pitch, but not who subsequently pitches next to you!
If you're ever up that way try eating at The Galloway Smokehouse. Wonderful Cullen Skink.
Now it's back to 05:00 starts (must remember to set the alarm!) and 70/80 hour weeks.
P.S. - I forgot to say - it was a wonderful week!

Sorry to remind you Goldie but this is what we've got today, tons of grain, loads of dust, the winter wheat is finally being harvested.
Six hours work so far and still going in the evening sun.

Cleaned outside of caravan today getting ready for an outing when the kids are back at school.
It's surprising how many spiders there were on the outside - I stopped counting at 20+.
Better not let OH know that or she won't come along for the trip.
Hmmm - second thoughts - perhaps I will.

Goldie it sounds like you had just what you needed on your weeks holiday. Plenty of r&r enough to set you up for 'normal' weeks. Glad you managed to sit outside always good for the soul 😆.
Brue I hoping that plenty of that harvedting going on around Peterborough. I had heard they were on the last fields if the weather held 😉. It appears it may have done from how milliehull has described her day 😆.
Helenandtrevor glad you've arrived safely, enjoy time with your family and treat yourselves to a decent rest.
Tammygirl when are you off? Hope the alteration went well. Been impossible to buy nice 3/4's this year so good choice I reckon!
Red face good work on cleaning outside of caravan. I've noticed loads of spiders recently. A bit like the autumnal feel all a bit early this year.
The day has lived up to its promise, 23c blue sky and still. Pottered this morning met an ex colleague and friend for lunch looking forward to a good catch up, but limited to 2 hours which focused us both. Then a lovely relax in the garden enjoying the last of a truly beautiful day. Just come indoors as we've lost the sun, fingers crossed for more of the same tomorrow.
Whatever you're doing folks enjoy your weekend and hopefully lovely weather.

Sorry KjellNN forgot the north of the country isn't under the high were enjoying 😢.
Good luck with your search for sites, as you suggest £10 a night is quite a saving if you're doing a fair number on a tour 😉. Are you staying this side if the channel this time? I know you're around the Derby area for a few nights. Kids are back at school week after next done here, I know yours have already got a week under their belts, and hopefully their jinx on the weather will very lifted 😆
I'm hoping that we'll apply ourselves to a minimum of a few days away very soon. Got the holiday dog tomorrow for an overnight whilst his family are out on the razz. They have a full on weekend of birthdays and anniversaries and tomorrow's is earliest start latest finish of them all and a different town!
