Uncontrolled dogs.

Ah, so it has nothing to do with dogs on UK sites.

David, you and I have both been around on CT long enough to know there is plenty of scope for interpretaion in the second part of your sentence. Plenty are not satisfied with "clean up after it" no matter how instantly or effectively it's done.

We should be lucky that it is a very small minority that allow their dogs to deliberatly soil on sites ,we have been to three national trust beaches today all with toilets ,but noted numerous "parents/guardians allowing their offspring to not only urinate but also deficate on the beaches above high water mark, Plus one allowing their child to urinate in a co-op shop car park and the toilets were less than 50yds away, hope they never get a dog

Goodness, JV! 3, no, 4 locations! You must attract them.
I suppose all the toilets were in good working order and the kiddies weren't desperate so could have walked, waited and queued? Just wondering.

Didn't say it was great .... just that, as the club says, accidents do happen to older/ill dogs and if it's promptly cleared up, then the owner has done what is expected of him/her.
You must have a more sensitive nose as I've yet to get a pitch and notice any lingering smell.

Hot place? Do you mean pitch fouling happens 'over there', David?

I might meet you there, David. Woo-hoo!

Extract: Of course your dog can accompany you
when walking around Club sites, however,
please exercise them in the designated dog
walk area, or off site, and clean up after your
dog using the bins provided.Perhaps this leaflet should be given to all dog owners and perhaps stop whinges on site reviews because a warden has spoken to the owner.

Wardens do give the leaflet to dog owners, ET.

To be fair by far the majority of owners are well behaved and well trained. Each year I see a few whose pooches need to relieve themselves early morning but whose owners appear reluctant for an early start ..... especially in winter rain. I also see a minority that prefer to 'exercise' on site especially in winter.

I probably visit 22 or more sites a year. Typically about 17 are club sites. I doubt if I am asked more than twice a year and that is usually when the staff member is describing areas of the site and in relation to the location of dog walk. Maybe that is why we have whingers making site reviews who have been talked to about exercising dogs on sites

As HD, have never been asked if I have a dog and have never been handed one of the dog leaflets.

We were there for several hours and all the beaches had "good" toilets or as good as some tend to leave them, but saw staff cleaning on one of the beaches,we did not notice a queue at any even the ladies, and oh had to use them all the co op was at Swanage and i was waiting in the car with our dog,the toilets were just across the small carpark at the railway station,

I have not been on a site where information leaflets on most subjects relavent to the site(including dogs) are available in the information room/shed, that I would think unless they are normally "head in the sand"people has been visited

When there were rumours of a rebrand to the clubs name and identity.....and especially given the numbers of 'dog showers' now being built on sites...I thought finally...The Canine and Caravan Club..with a dogs head being incorporated into the new logo...

When reading through this thread one thing becomes clear; none of the dog lovers/owners on this forum condone the behavior of irresponsible members.
In fact other dog owners are more likely to confront or report an irresponsible owner, they know it could reflect badly on responsible owners. As is the case with this thread.

Dog owner and when asked if we had a dog at arrival wardens usually point out the dog walks on and off site
At York was actually informed that you could not walk the dog offsite due to drive being part of a stud farm and it was conditions of use!! But a great dog run area - whe unfortunately inconsiderate users didn't pick up the poo or did and just left the bags or chucked them over the fence despite a bin at the entrance
And yip have walked pooch for a mile or so and it poos as soon as you get back on site - sorry but until I can control nature.
Other thing I'd throw in is night time and dark hours - often the dog walk areas are unlit and the area outside the site is dark - not much you can do there safely

Unlit areas on/off site at home. Head or handheld torch solves that problem. But I do agree a movement sensor light would be good.
When I read, in reviews about walking the dog from Beechwood at York I thought it was a joke! Wouldn't have occurred to me that you couldn't walk out of the exit with a dog 😲. No wonder it's reinforced on arrival. Mind you having driven past the site, is that the right description when it's off a roundabout? I wouldn't want to walk off site anyway - with or without a dog very busy road no footpaths 😲
