There's been reporting on the local regional news both paper website, radio & TV about disturbances in & around Cromer over the weekend. Seacroft site was named as somewhere that had to call police in emergency. Hope all those staying at this site & the wardens were not affected by the unwanted guests that reportedly arrived en mass at the clubhouse facilities.

North Norfolk District Council said a group of travellers in 23 caravans had set up camp in the town's Runton Road car park but had now started to leave.

A spokeswoman said they arrived on Friday and the council had served a notice on Saturday for them to leave.

A lot of motorhomes too apparently but lets hope peace has been restored. Unpleasant experience for everyone locally and on the club site.

Just hope all the negative press doesn't put potential visitors off visiting this lovely town and area especially as next weekend is a bank holiday.

Wonder what the clean up costs will amount to.  Some years ago they came to Yarmouth and the costs to taxpayers run into the tens of thousands of pounds.

I was not sure how directly the CC site was affected ColDeb. Thanks for that:

Shortly after 8.50pm police were also called to a private bar at a caravan park where a large group had entered and refused to leave when asked to by the manager. Officers attended the scene and engaged with the group who then left

Cromer shut down at 7pm so the traverlers decended on the bar at seacroft, about 30 or so i was told by the wardens. Police arrived mob handed and didnt remove them... just waiteid it our till they got bored... bar was closed and they just were just "eased" off the property.

    no damamge done happy days.

When we arrived on the 23rd they was secuirty on the gate and unless your name was not on the list you were not getting in.... in a vehical or on foot.... very reasurring. secuirty are there till after the bank holiday as there is a large funfair directly next to the site.
