Details:

•Caravan Club members save up-to 10% on everyday low car hire rates

•Save at more than 350 locations throughout the UK & at more than 7,000 locations worldwide

•Many non-Airport locations are open 7 days a week

Around the corner. Around the globe.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car offers more than 7,000 locations worldwide – including more than 200 airport locations throughout Europe. Caravan Club members save on rentals in:

United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Spain, Germany and throughout Europe

Sounds a very good deal…………but it appears on the car hire location drop down menu, I cannot hire a car from Riga Airport, Latvia? Now if I was going to Albania, I could hire a car;  I wonder
if Latvia has been missed off the CC offer?

Booked 6 days now with Europa car.Smile

The offer is there if it is of use to you and Enterprise set the terms. It may have the odd missing spot but it is still useful for most needing the service and Latvia is certainly not the busiest location.

Thanks for that, will be probably be booking car hire at Riga again next year and the year after; if we cannot find 2 farms dating from the 1700 / 1800's that we are looking for and a grave!Surprised

MichealT, Latvia was not on the drop down list of countries.

I would not class it as being a worlwide servcie if it only covers the UK, EU and USA.  What about South Africa or Australia?

I've always thought that there was one major flaw in this offer.

Yes they will come and collect you from a club site.  But you have to make your own way back to the site from their office at the end of the rental.

Not a lot of use for most motorhome users.

I have unfortunately had to use their services on a couple of occasions in the past couple of years and each time they took me back home.

On both our rentals last year whilst staying on club sites, they picked us up at the start of the rental and delivered us back at the end.  So either you have it wrong or we were just lucky.

Enterprise have always picked us up, and taken us back to the site,  The only time they could not, due to staff not being availiable, they paid for a taxi.

I would give a thumbs up for Enterprise, the staff have always been polite and helpful. Had one surly experience, but that was the wrong guy in the wrong job.

American based, so there web site, has the problem when you think you have found out what you, it only applies in the US of A.  That said UK customer service is good, and will take a booking over the phone, and discount if you quote the CC membership number,

Some offices are better run than others,  Office serving Cheddar camp site,  phoned to check pick up times and places and told us when they were leaving to pick us up. Some others managed to get lost, or late. But an upgrade was given by way of apology.

We have recently returned from York.  Where we hired a car. Just a word from the wise concerning Enterprise. When you hire a car the insurance you get with the offer is very basic, akin to third party really. To get full cover ie, if anyone scratches the car , say in a supermarket with a trolley there is an excess of £1000, for an extra £17.00 per day, yep, that is what we were told, you can have full cover. Rip off!

Also if you have no credit history, or no Credit card don't bother.

Other than this the staff were efficient and polite and dropped us off at the site at the end of the rental.

You can buy an annual stand alone insurance on line.  We did this one year when we knew we were going to be hiring a car quite a lot.

There are certainly better deals around than Enterprise.

A good business enterprise for the club would be to have a couple (or more) cars available to hire on site.......perhaps even electric cars, a "twizy" or "Zoe" type thing.....

Would be good for their green credentials.....

And fit nicely with their new focus on motorhomers.......

Of course it might reduce sales of "This pitch is occupied by a Motor Caravan" signs though.....tongue-out
