Buddywaller, As you live in Kent I wonder whether you might go over to northern France this autumn for a short visit to get a feel for European campsites, driving on the right, shopping, currency, lifestyle and all that, - just as a reconnaissance before setting off to drive to Spain.  Friends of mine were so panicked they never went again!

The C&CC run winter rallies in Spain.  Lots of CMC members go to them.  The ferry from Portsmouth to Santander/Bilbao cuts down on the amount of driving to sites.

Friends of ours went on a C&CC winter rally to Spain in 2016 and had a great time.  They'd never travelled outside Great Britain with their caravan, and felt they got just the right level of support, without having to join in everything.  They enjoyed it so much they went again this year, and are planning to go again in early 2018
