Thanks Millie, it's quite a big tree and we've been clearing out around it so it can grow on a bit more.

Hoping to go out today, not sure about coast or town. Hope the weather improves. smile

Wel Malc, taking the awning down and moving every 21 days seems like a walk in the park compared with all that! laughing

I’m taking my Granddaughter (she’s 7) to Canterbury the last two weeks of August and treating her to a couple of days in France while were there. I’m thinking of Boulogne sur Mer, I don’t want to be taking too much time travelling as we’ll only be there two days.

Like others I’m thinking of a trip in September. At the moment I’m thinking of Scotland but nothing planned yet.

Also the language problem there. In Wuhan, they couldn't speak English! My wife had to act as interpreter.

Yes, Scotland suited me too. Lovely place for a summer holiday with plenty to see and do.

We have 2 grandsons for the day today so will probably take them and there 6 month old cocker spaniel for a walk so that Mr H can start the training regime. It is very windy and grey here today.

My Labrador was no fool. There were half a dozen walks that we regularly did from home of an evening when I had been out to work in the day. I would often get to the bottom of our road and say 'go on, which way' I would then let him choose which of our walks to take. On a reasonable evening we would be out for a couple of hours. When the gales were blowing and the rain heavy and horizontal he always chose the shorter option with no prompting. laughing

Started bright and bit breezy. Went very very grey and dark as washing due to finish 😲 but now blown over 😆 and rather blue. Hoping it'll stay dry OH over refixing skylight with correct sealant! I'm enjoying having house to myself 😆😆😆 and wondering what to choose to do after routine chores. Might potter in the garden plenty to deadhead if nothing else 😉

    Enjoy your day folks

Hoping to plan a trip away for September onwards but who knows? We are off all things being well on repair to Bristol balloon festival next week.

That would be an absolute no no for us,we have two daughters who live close by and a sufficient income to pay for in home help. We will be celebrating our golden wedding in October we have looked after each other up to now and hopefully will  continue to do so.  ☺☺☺☺

Nasty weather here overnight, woke twice to hear water cascading off the roof, hopefully just the volume of water and not a blocked gutter.  If the weather improves I will have to get the ladder out to take a look.

Some sun now, but still a lot of very grey clouds around.

Now we have the oven, I will need to get on with fitting the new shelf in the housing unit.

Warm and fairly sunny with heavy showers here in Notts. Had to nip to B&Q this morning as the pull cord switch in the Bathroom failed last night. There were several to choose from at various prices. Went for the slightly dearer MK as these usually seem slightly better made, particularly in relation to the connectors. It says on this one designed for life. However, as the one I am replacing is also MK I assume this means 16 years, as that was when I fitted it.😂

Cold, wet and windy this morning. But now it's just cool, damp and breezy.

This morning - and this may sound a bit obsessional - I catalogued and sorted all my vinyl albums. I was starting to worry about buying duplicates. But no more worries. They're now in two batches - one, those I am unlikely to ever want to listen to again (but can't throw away) and the others in a smart new case that makes them easy to get at .

And I've left room for those already pre-ordered this autumn.

We left Lancing Fruit Farm CL at about 11:15. There was heavy traffic on the westbound A27 between Lancing and Worthing, so we didn't get to the club site until 12:15. We're now signed in and back on our seasonal pitch once again. We had lunch and then proceeded to erect the awning.

We'll probably need to make another trip to Chipping Sodbury some time as a fault has developed with the fridge. The control panel is not working so you can't switch from electric to battery or gas.

Is it still under warranty with Thetford themselves?  If so, and even if not, I would contact them and ask them to either send someone out at their expense, or give you the name of their nearest repair person.

Oven housing nearly ready for repositioned shelf, should be able to fit oven tomorrow.  OH will be pleased to have a good oven again.

Off now to the tip to dispose of old oven, it will be a bit sad to see it go after so many years.

We got a bonus with the new oven that we were not expecting......a set of telescopic shelf runners.

Despite the weather we managed to complete 2 walks relatively unscathed, just one heavy shower on each walklaughing.  Both walks were courtesy the forestry commission.  Both were well signposted and not too strenuous.

Yes, very sad news. He'll always be Siegfried Farnon for me from All Creatures Great & Small.

And Hywell Bennett also died today. Another very fine actor.
