I saw what I thought was some sort of art installation yesterday. On closer inspection the whole thing was made from recycled plastic bottle tops. It looked attractive!

We were supposed to be heading home from Cornwall this evening but we've seen the hold ups from this morning's accident on the M5 so will make an early start in the morning.

Mrs M's choir is singing at a wedding in Castle Combe church tomorrow afternoon so fingers crossed there will be no knock on problems. frown

I don't blame you for delaying the journey, the hold up photos look awful. It's been a really sad week with the loss of holiday makers on the roads down here.

    Have a safe journey.

It looked very good in real life, coming out from a large tree trunk in a tent shape.

If I was clever enough to post a photo that would put you off your sandwich and if it was smellyvision you'd be ill.

Well the sun put in its appearance at 8pm but the midges appeared as well so quickly retreated to the van.  The weather is meant to improve this morning, hope so as its raining at the moment and want it dry to take down the awning.  Top tip when touring in Northern Briton, take a large awning they make a great drying room.

Sunshine here this morning too, but how long for?

I'am taking a friend to pick up some shelves that she bought, they wouldn't fit in her little car. We are hoping they will go in the Freelander undecided

Just trying to time it right, as I don't want to get caught in the queues at Woodstock for Countryfile Live.

Hope you get to take the awning down in the dry Oneputt, horrible job in the rain.

Enjoy the weekend folks, hopefully we will get some sunshine! smile

I'm happy to post yucky finger nail pictures wink

Had strange goings on under my finger nail for about 6 months which I though was a fungal nail infection.  I just painted them as usual and you couldn't tell the difference. Only when my finger tip got a bit swollen did I see my GP.

He referred me urgently to a dermatologist as he thought I may have a melanoma under my finger nail.  Things progressed quickly on the appointment front and the finger front....it got very very swollen, lots of stuff coming out from under the nail.  Nail to come off, biopsy taken and thoroughly cleaned out next week.  My nail is now loose and only held on by a small area to one side but my other half is too squeamish to cut it off for me.

A long day on the farm yesterday.

5:00 am start as usual, but then flat out till 11:00 pm. We've been growing some "Wholecrop" (a mixture of Spring Barley and Peas that is harvested green, chopped and put in the silage pit) on some fields we rent a few miles away. We don't have the machinery for this, so a contractor is managing it for us. He rang to say it was ready and the weather was OK, and would be bringing large tractor loads from 4:00 pm. So it was a mad rush to move all the machinery out of the empty pit and get it ready. "All" we have to do is heap it up etc.  This went on till about 9:30 pm.

Meanwhile, the new parlour fitters were working with the fitters installing the new feed system.

The new augers needed new wiring so our electrician (and three workers) came at 7:00 pm and worked on until 10:30 pm.

Today there's more wholecrop coming in and catching up with all the stuff that got sidelined yesterday. And of course the usual 5:00 am start.

    Caravanning? Holidays? What are those!

P.S. I slept in this morning till 7:00 am.

moulesy, I hope you have a safe journey home and that Mrs m gets to the church on time.  It's going to be a busy weekend on the roads and at the airports.  We are not going far but we are off to a friend's birthday lunch tomorrow which will be lovely but unfortunately the journey will be on the A47 which I think will be busy with traffic coming home from the coast so we will have to time our journey home carefully.

It's raining here at the moment. frown I hope you get your awning down in the dry OP.  I admire you and Mrs OP for tackling a munro. Have a good day everyone.

Natasha2 that sounds really nasty. I hope the biopsy results aren't as your Dr fears. It goes to show you shouldn't ignore things. Was/is it not painful?

Oneputt good tip but you've forgotten that the awning will need drying, unless you're lucky enough to have a decent length without rain. However you should be OK when you get back home. Hope that hadn't put a jinx on our weather 😲

Bright here but clouding over. Off to remove tarpaulin on motorhome roof, was to ensure sealant could really dry, we haven't had much only spots of rain since doing it. Fingers crossed.

Safe journey home moulesy, hopefully no problems today.

Enjoy your day folks however you spend it 😆

We've just booked a day trip to the Isle of Wight for Monday 7th August. Our outward crossing from Portsmouth to Fishbourne using the Smart Car leaves at 08:30 a.m. and we have to check in half an hour earlier. The google map shows 50 minutes to get from here to Portsmouth Wightlink ferry. Perhaps we should allow an extra half an hour in case of delay, so we'll need to leave here at 06:30 a.m. Our return is booked for 20:50. So we should be back on site before 11 p.m.

Most of it was paid for for through Tesco Clubcard vouchers. This covered £67.50 of the cost, the balance of £7.50 I paid by Tesco credit card. I converted £22.50 of Tesco vouchers into £67.50 Wightlink tokens for toal return cost of £75.00.

I got my next weeks work rota and Monday is a day off, so this would be a good way to spend it, don't you think?

That is very sad news. We delayed our return home yesterday because of the accident at J21. Fortunately it was all plain sailing this morning - left at 6, home just before 9.

These new accidents are obviously going to make it a very stressful start for many folks' holidays. Just hope no-one was seriously hurt.

Bakers 2   It wasn't painful until it got so swollen last week.

I thought it was so insignificant that I went into GP apologising for bothering him.  Very shocked when he referred me to dermatologist who then referred me to a plastic surgeon. Also I've been seen in 3 NHS authorities  to get the shortest wait time.

Thanks Millie Hull for your good wishes too.

After a lovely sunny morning, it's just started raining, so we were lucky not to get caught by the shower.

We went into the town centre to do some shopping and then on to Tesco Extra. We managed to get all the shopping into the caravan before this heavy shower started.

Hopefully, the weather will improve in time for our trip to the Isle of Wight! The weather forecast just says light cloud for Monday, so fingers crossed!

I have a day off from work today so now that it's raining, it's time to chillout in the awning relaxer!

I've been looking at the National Trust app and have noticed that there are quite a few NT properties to visit on the Isle of Wight. So it looks like we'll be spoilt for choice!
