Not stayed there but it gets very good reviews on UKCampsites. I have been to Eymet as Margaret's brother used to live nearby. I think it's quite an "English" part of the Dordogne.

We have been to Camping du Chateau in each of the last three years. It is owned by the municipallity of Eymet and has been run for a number of years by Phillipe as (effectively) a private site. However, according to our Dutch friends whom we have met there every year, Phillipe has now retired or given up running the site because he was unhappy with the terms offered for renewal. So, I don't know how things will be now.
However, the site is very near the centre of the pleasant small town of Eymet and is/was a typical French site - well run and well kept but with that slightly scruffy French ambiance. There was always a friendly atmosphere on site with all nationalities mixing and socialising, particularly at the Friday evening gathering when Phillipe provided wine and pizza at a very nominal cost
The area is very attractive and nearby Bergerac is worth a visit. Because a significant factor (for us and our Dutch friends) was the pleasing atmosphere created by Phillipe, it is hard to know whether to recommend the site under new management. incidentally, David is right with his comment about the "Englishness" of Eymet - the English voice is heard almost exclusively at the weekly market in the town !!

We've only stayed there once, and that was a few years ago now, but remember it was a site with a great atmosphere, as described in the post above. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay there, and also remember Philippe being a great guy.
Walking distance to Eymet, where it struck us also, the majority of people appeared to be speaking English! Eymet is really nice, but of course touristy.
We've not been back to that area, but would certainly stay there again, and hope, in light of the above post, it's still as good as it was when Philippe was there.
