Pine Tree Sap
Currently staying on a CAMC booked site in south west France. Delightful and in the middle of a pine forest. Wondered on arrival why so many cars have either covers or rugs over them and it turns out the trees drop sap onto the cars and caravans which when sets in the sun goes rock hard. Those in the know came prepared!
Does anyone have any recommendations or experience of how to remove it once set in particular from caravan windows. Anything recommended via google seems to be using solvents. An old thread on another site detailed someone having some advice from Coachman to use white spirit which apparently worked, but am unsure, particularly in respect of using in the windows!

It's a common problem on European campsites that are sheltered by pine trees. The site where our caravan is in Italy has a similar problem on some of the pitches. We use a product that will remove both the soft and the hard resin very effectively. See photo attached, hopefully you can find a similar product in France.

Had the same problem a couple of years ago tried everything's he only thing that worked was a spray from a French supermarket it's called Rettoyant Bonnex brand label AbelAuto it is specifically for removing resins, gas oil , flies,worked brilliant spray onto area affected and wipe clean with a cloth. Worked on van roof,windows also on car bodywork and glass.
