Given we are in the dark and depressing time of year when its hard to remember how blue the sky is in Provence ,are there other readers out there who know and love the wonderous St Remy de Provence??

Yes, agreed. And the other three I suggested -before they vanish in this latest double thread fiasco - were Monplaisir, Pegomas and Parc de la Bastide. All four get good reviews

But it does depend on what the questioner means by "good" . For me good is the orchard of apples, olives, willows and cypress trees about ten miles out of town, with only about a dozen other outfits there in midsummer.

Parc de la Bastide is within walking distance of the town centre. It has shaded, hedged pitches. We were there in May when it wasn't busy. Cath in Remy in May!

We stayed on Monplaisir in the spring. Attractive, well cared for site. Be careful how you approach if towing Sat Nav got us in a situation where we had great difficulty turning into the site which has quite a narrow entrance through big metal gates. Would recommend if a little expensive.

It is a few years since we stayed there but we found Mas de Nicholas ideal as it is a medium sized site without the regimented feel of other nearby sites. It is a pleasant short walk through a back lane into the town.

The town itself is full of character, with a wonderful market. Nearby attractions include the Gallo Roman town of Glanum and the hilltop town of Les Baux

    • (repeat of Info I put on the other thread)  We stayed at Mas de Nicolas in May - lovely site, good facilities, decent pitches, nice pool and small bar area. Might be worth booking, site fairly full in May. 1 mile ish from town. We would return if in the area. However all the sites mentioned look good.  (prenez votre pick as my OH would say)

We are going to St Remy next month on our first outing in a caravan (had to sell the motorhome due to ill health) as it has so much to do and see. Camping Pegomas is very well run and is close enough to town.

Stayed at camping pegomas last year and thought it was great. Easy walk into town and very friendly.
