Hi all

I feel a bit daft asking this but we are new to motor homing and going on our first outing next week..... Please excuse our ignorance but when using the shower blocks where do you put your clothes ?

On hooks or on a bench inside each individual cubicle. You might want to wear flip flops or crocs to protect your feet.

Hello and welcome to motorhoming and CT.

If you are using a club site with facilities you will find within the facility block toilet cubicles, privacy cubicles and shower cubicles. The shower cubicles have an area for dressing and undressing, generally a seat of some description be that a plastic one or a bench, there will also be hooks. On some commercial sites you may find a room which contains wash hand basin, shower and toilet.

Do check on Club sites for closure times - usually mid morning for about an hour.

The vagaries of the British weather sometimes require a bit more in the way of clothes...and don't forget you can always use your own shower in the van.smile

Is this a service to go with the rebrand?? Can you book? Do you have to pay a deposit? 😉

You wear whatever you like so long as you're decent. It's always good to entertain fellow campers on site 😉😂

Yes, some commercial sites (often the 'adult only' ones) have unisex washrooms which invariably have a decent size shower cubicle or are a wet room.

Now being as the wife and I hate waste and consider water as a valuable commodity....  winktongue-out

if the weather is acceptable and the walk not too far, it'll be shorts and a t-shirt, towel over shoulder, shower gel in pocket....(thats as minimalist as i get in this country, tho generally ditch the shirt where its warm....).

however, if its raining or freezing cold (we tour all year round so get some interesting weather...) it will be the van shower for us.....smile

Sure why not, at one site in the Midlands, there are very nice unisex bathrooms which are opposite some pitches. You should see the blinds twitching when we're finished and seen exiting together. cool

One has to be very carefull with one's accent when talking about these units as it can sound like "you-need-sex toilet".

They are the sensible way forward with site sanitation and I will know they have become socialy acceptable when they are simply signed as "Toilet".

Re OP. There's no mystery. You take shower bag, towel and clothes, pick a shower cubicle, undress, shower, redress. Hooks and some sort of seat provided. Once that adventure has been undertaken, you may or may not decide to use your onboard facilities if you have them. A tad more work might be required making sure you have water adequate for showering, but its not much. You stay warm, private, and don't have the inconvenience of avoiding a cleaning timeslot and the need to queue for a shower at busy times.
