Tesco diets give you three meals a day, plus a snack and reduces weight!
Diabetic instructions are that you shouldn't skip meals but keep to reasonable portions. I get exercise too. On my last day off when it wasn't raining, we did a two and a half mile walk in NT Nymans woodlands.
We eat fish quite often which is recommended as healthy eating. When I was in hospital they weighed me and found I was 80 kilos.

Is it compulsory these days to get professional driving lessons?
My wife initially taught both our children to drive, once they were used to the roads and traffic, after a few weeks, we got both of them professional lessons to be sure they were learning the correct things.
All our cars were automatic, son first got an automatic licence then upgraded it. With our daughter, dual control learner hire cars were then available, so she had lessons in a manual and my wife took her out in a hire car once a week for extra practise. In between, she got traffic experience driving to and from school in our automatic.
As you pretty much only use the Shogun for towing, there is little point in your wife getting a manual licence at present as presumably she would not want to tow. Why not take her out yourself in the Smart, let her gain confidence, then arrange some automatic lessons?
Insuring a learner is not too expensive, it is after they pass it gets expensive! No need to insure her on both cars if she would not want to drive the bigger one.
She can always upgrade her licence later if she is keen.

It's our wedding anniversary today - 10 years of marital bliss with never a cross word in all that time (actually, though we've been married for 43 years! )
Just back from a very nice celebration lunch, finishing with ice cream .....marmite ice cream! It was a bit of a shock to the system at first but actually very pleasant especially combined with the other flavour which was golden syrup.

Well more like an April day. Grey cleared this morning but since late morning it's been sunshine and showers. Just had a beefy shower with thunder and lightening. No I didn't get my washing in so it's now soaked 😢.
Hubby wanting to do our grass and elderly aunt's but it won't happen at all today. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Bit like that here to Bakers, rain on and off sun out briefly so I know there is still one up there
Busy old day with the decorating again, OH involved today as there was paper to be hung (he does that) I paste, fold and pass it to him (up ladder) give advice (not always taken) he marks I cut. Moved small sideboard and undercoated behind it.
Managed to get washing out and dried and dish washing done all while sun out so free of charge (solar power)
Motorhome still in garage getting fixed, failed MOT yesterday due to back brake sticking. All fixed now, they have stripped it down cleaned it up but still need to re-MOT, so pick up tomorrow.
OH gone into town to his blood donation appointment, then he is picking up a Chinese take away for our evening meal, we have both lost half a stone in weight in the last 4 weeks, so we are celebrating
Happy Anniversary Moulsey and Mrs M agree with Bakers, not sure about the ice cream.
Sorry to hear you've had car problems DSB, rotten when you are on holiday.

Decided to give the house a blitz this morning, most unlike me as I hate housework.
This year's Christmas entertainment turned up this morning, after everyone enjoyed doing a jigsaw last year we ordered another one from the RSPB.
Work this afternoon and payroll went ok this week, much to my relief!
Congratulations on your wedding anniversary Moulesy, I'am not sure about the Ice Cream flavours either.

Happy Anniversary Mr and Mrs Moulesy. Like others I am not sure about those 2 ice cream flavours. 😕
Sorry to hear about your car problem DSB. What rotten luck. I hope you get it sorted out quickly.
We hired a Rugdoctor today and shampooed the carpets. Now exhausted. It is not for the faint hearted!
Like others our weather has been a mixture of sunny spells and absolute downpours.

I beg to differ KJ - 'As you pretty much only use the Shogun for towing, there is little point in your wife getting a manual licence at present as presumably she would not want to tow.'
If the lady were to get a full 'manual' licence she will not need to get another one for 'Automatics'. It seems best to do that from the outset rather than go 1/2 way and then get another licence later for a manual gearbox.
I could be wrong of course, maybe the law has changed since I passed mine (only had to drive in a straight line forward and then backwards.)

Goodness triky what an eventful evening. I hope no-one was seriously injured.

Of course she would not need another licence to drive an automatic!
I have no idea how confident a driver Mrs MM might be, just suggesting she could start driving the Smart, it is small and easy to drive, and possibly cheaper to insure her on that too.
Malcolm could take her out, teach her the basics, see how she feels, how she gets on. Plenty of opportunity to get lots of practice in the Smart.
It would be the quickest way to get her mobile.
She may prefer to stick with the automatic, she may decide to go for a full manual licence, in which case she can get lessons, Malcolm can hire one of those dual control cars to give her extra experience. The Shogun is a big car, not ideal to learn on.

A lot of showers here today in North Yorkshire. First we paid a visit to Constable Burton gardens, they were in that BBC mag 2 for 1 scheme. Although somewhat soggy they were well worth the visit. We have been going past them on and off for the last 30 years, so a visit was well overdue. Then to Richmond Castle, where great views were available from the Keep, although somewhat spoiled by the persistent rain. It started to brighten up on the way back, although there had been so much rain, in some places the Ure was over its bank and several of the smaller tributaries were using the road. This evening we went to a sheep dog demo. We have been many times before over the years and it is always amazing to watch. It stayed mainly dry for this, only starting to rain again towards the end.

Yet more rain overnight and this morning. If this keeps up we will be needing an Ark. It is supposed to brighten later 🤞. I feel very sorry for those on their annual break, at least for us it is just another week and we have more planned in September.😀

Off to house-sit for step-son shortly. I'm torn between wanting good weather and rain as their house has it's own water supply from a well.

Not to bad a day so far, cloudy but no rain yet windy at times.
More decorating this morning getting there slowly.
Off to the hospital this afternoon to see Podiatrist, what will she do this time I wonder, so far whatever she has done has made something else worse so 1 step forward and 2 back so to speak.
Then a bit of shopping for the weekend and garage to pick up m/h, will be good to see it back outside the house.

Back home after 3 days away to "aclimatize" new family member to c/van, she has done well,we had almost forgotten what an obstacle course they present, its two weeks now and so far she has been on her "best behave for new home" mode, just keeping fingers crossed that it is going to stay so

Sheltering from the horizontal rain and wind. No let up likely till middle of next week, so its a stay at home week. Shame for those holiday makers here in Mid/north Wales, but without the rain you would have no water to drink in England.

The family are now going on their various ways to Northumberland, the Lakes and Greece over the next few days. All quiet, hoping they get good weather. Going out for a dog walk now, our dogs are old and one is in failing health, always a worry with pets so I'm off on a slow short ramble across the fields in mizzly rain.

Mixed day here, sunshine and showers.
Have been working on my CH timer installation, checking my wiring before switch on. Almost there now. Still several other things on the "to do" list.
OH is trying to find out if a replacement bag and roof fabric is available for our Caravanstore Zip, plus how to get our Truma Mover fixed locally under warranty, one motor is not stopping when it should.
Just had a call from DD, her husband (on holiday, at home, as he is a teacher) has found water spraying from the toilet cistern! He has managed to turn off the water to the house meantime, so I am to go at 8pm tonight to try and diagnose the problem. Second time there has been a problem with the same cistern.
Now pouring with rain!

Day started bright and breezy, OH has decided that as we managed to fit a new kitchen DIY last year, we can do the bathroom this year! He has ordered some of the stuff and will be delivered on Monday - something to look forward to!
Did shopping in Aldi, they had the caravan toilet fluid, blue and pink for £2.99 so bought a couple more.
Had a call from eldest son, he is off to Whitby with his girlfriend for a few days. Youngest son is back from Manchester for the weekend so looking forward to seeing him.
Weather now awful...Pouring with rain, and very dark.
