Taking Our Dog To Italy

We want to travel to Lake Garda, Italy next year and happy via france or Spain.

The question is any suggestions on which route is best where our dog stays with us. Eurostar don't allow dogs other than guide dogs. Some ferrys say yes but dog must stay in motorhome and you can only visit doggy with a staff member. We'll be travelling from Wiltshire.

Anybody suggest a ferry route with dog friendly cabins?

The tunnel takes dogs in your motorhome.  Eurostar is a foot passenger service. If you are taking your motorhome the train will take the strain.

Our motorhome is 4.25GVW and 8m long so we would have to travel as freight commercial vehicle and their rules say no dogs so the tunnel is out of the question for us.

Are you sure about that? My outfit is 12m long and 4250kg plated weight and I use the tunnel regularly, never with freight. I always take my dog.

Another option. Drive down to Portsmouth. Hop on a Brittany Ferries to Caen. Dog stays in motorhome. Job done.
