Have we already seen this year's winner? Adam Peaty?

Froome's achievements are remarkable but I don't think he's as popular as the track cyclists and probably still suffers from all the doping controversies associated with TdF.

Peaty must have a good chance, but we've still got the world athletics championships to come and if Mo Farah wins double gold again he'd be my choice. smile

The way the BBC is going, I fear, unless Peaty or Froome declare themselves trans-gender, I can't see either making the short-list.

No it will be a female cricketer or footballist for SPOTY surely.

Froome would be the ideal choice.  Best UK road race rider ever.

Well it's all over, our Mo got it! But do others feel that there are other minority sports personalities who were actually more deserving of this award?

Seems a very popular result with the press this morning.  Good to see motorcycling got a look in.  It's strange that the bookies got it so wrong this year !

I assumed that the recent bad publicity kept the votes lower for both Lewis Hamilton and Chris Froome.

Good result - but what a cock up with the live link! Still, the right man (person) won and my vote counted at last! smile
