    undecided Eat Out !!.NO purchasing of food stuffs fridge full of wasted food ,no pots & pans to wash up,less weight ,spend money in the local economy,restaurants etc . If with  a vehicle of that caliber your standing in the motorhome brownie points goes up !! Look the part ,dress the part,and enjoy a new status !!    cool  I Do  !!laughing.

    Bit fed up as today I had to resort to using a walking stick! Must admit it made things easier especially climbing stairs in a national trust property.

    We'd only booked for two nights costing a total of £24 which we paid yesterday. Even if they do have a pitch available, it means having to pay more site fees when we don't need to because of our seasonal pitch being available for another 21 nights, following the two nights away. That will take us to 1st August when we'll need another two nights away.

    Out of interest, Malcolm, do you have to move your caravan every 21 days or can you leave it there and just move yourselves for a couple of days?

    That would appear to be the policy of most continental MH's. Given the OH's dietary constraints, that does present some difficulties. Anyway, if I shelled out for a Carthago, I'd have to economise on luxuries like eating.

    cool Up early ready for 'the off' .Cloudy and cooler  on I.o.W, just started raining/showering.Red Funnel ferry at 11.30.

    C.Y luxuries like eating are an everyday fact of life ,which can be done in any country with whatever dietary requirements there are ,with food on board or restaurant menu's.??You pays your money and makes your choice !! wink.

    I do sympathise Alan.  My right knee and left hip are both causing pain.  I am resisting a stick, but I fear the day is only just around the corner.  frown

    I know how you feel ,i have inoperable problems with my lower back ,and "them who should know" have advised a walking stick or/and painkillers is all that is left

    Having seen the results in our family of the stick and non stick users I can see the difference. Sticks seem to absorb the shock and help mobility.

    Tweeked  my  back  a  couple  of  days  ago  yell,  getting  better  slowly  but  taking  a  pill  or  so  to  keep  moving  reasonably,  but  hearing  your  comments  I  wonder  if  I  should  talk my  neighbour  into  helping me  load  the  'van  in  order  to  avoid  doing  more  'tweeking'  undecided

    Seriously  ,  I  hope  you  all  carry  on  doing  those  things  you  like  with  minimal  interference  from  aches  &  pains.

    I also sympathise. Although I can go a whole year without needing it I always have a stick in the car as I get problems with my back, which come on without warning. A stick certainly helps, I don't think I would manage without it. I find it also has the added benefit that it identifies you have a problem. When I have tried to manage without, folk often end up pushing past as I am going so slow. With the stick they don't or give a wider berth.

    We can just leave it on our pitch. We don't because we like to use it for our accommodation during the 2 nights away. Also it keeps our pitch looking tidy because the warden can mow the grass underneath the caravan whilst we are away, which he wouldn't be able to do if the caravan remained sited.

    It's possible SteveL. I paid for the seasonal pitch in December 2016. That means I can stay 21 nights at a time without any site fees to pay, no electricity bill, no water bill and no other household bills. We buy mostly reduced price food that is going out of date. The last large loaf of Warburtons bread that we bought cost us 11 pence. Fresh vegetables and herbs are also available at reduced price. We bought a pack of herbs for just 4 pence.

    There's no road tax to pay on the Smart car and everytime I fill the tank it costs only £25 which lasts a week but earns me £120 in wages plus about £28 in fuel allowance. The car finance is costing me nothing because I've got a zero percent deal. The monthly payments just pay for the cost of the car. I have a service plan that covers all the servicing, so nothing to pay for that either plus I get a courtesy car.

    The Shogun and caravan are both paid for, so no monthly outgoings there. My caravan insurance came down this year because of no claims bonus. When I do need additional funds, loans and credit card borrowing is easily available at zero percent interest because of excellent credit rating.

    The Shogun and caravan are both paid for, so no monthly outgoings there.

    It is a very short term outlook though Malcom. ☹️ This may well be the case at the moment, but both will need maintenance work or replacing at some time, so you should also factor those costs into your budget.

    Woke early to rain so turned over and went back to sleepsmile still raining, hasn't  stopped since we arrived yesterdayfrown It's times like this I'm  glad we have the motor home.  Watching the caravanner packing up and setting up in the rain, we've  done it in the past but it's something I don't  miss. Hopefully it's going to dry up soon and we will go out, just chilling at the moment.

    spent the morning trying to file my "declaration of compliance" for the pensions regulator ,only to find it wouldn't accept my log in details ,then when it did it sent me back to the log in page yell, so I phoned them and the lady said "you can do that over the phone", so I did, and it only took 10 minutes, why do they make it so complicated ?????????

    Oh that's a shame. We're still waiting for some. It's forecast but doesn't arrive. We've had a light shower about 1pm didn't last ground not even damp! Our garden is desperate for some moisture everything going is wilting 😲😲. The sky looks full of storm/rain but it just moves on.  I do hope you get some better weather soon. I know exactly where you're coming from about arrival and departures of caravans as opposed to motorhomes 😉.

    Husky dog glad you've got your pension stuff sorted. Phoning seems to be so simple and straightforward compared to online. Brue I agree everything seems to generate reams of paper. So much for the paperless age 😢. Even in the shops the receipts get longer and longer as well as wider. Take the club receipt an A4 sheet of paper these days!

    We got the credit card statement today. Used to be one sheet of paper unless we'd gone made with transactions. Now it's 2 sheets of paper because the reverse of first page now has a summary of t&c's including charges interest rates etc. I know we could go paperless but I like paper statements as I find them much easier to reconcile.

    Feet up with a cuppa catching up on here. Had a haircut this morning followed by dentist - check up and clean. A bit of shopping and banking before meeting friend for late lunch break. Finished the odds and ends of shopping and walk home. Got everything I needed at first attempt - so a real good shop 😆. Just watching ladies tennis (Williams game) so think that's it for a while.

    Just watching the rain pouring off our wind out awning but back to good weather tomorrow I hope. Have been doing lots of short local walks. There is a nice central park overlooked by Beacon Terrace where the cast aside wives of Lords Nelson and Byron spent their days. Byron's daughter Ada Lovelace was  famous for advancing maths and the birth of computing with Charles Babbage, she lived here with her mother. Blue plaques everywhere!

    Weather dried a bit now we've even had a bit of sun cool really warm while it was out. Went for a walk to the retail park close by managed to buy a new duvet set for the bed back homesmile A new folding bucket and a couple of other bits and pieces. Hopefully tomorrow we can do something a little more exciting undecided

    Tammygirl Glad the suns put and you've managed to spend some money 😉. Please blow hard and send the rain down this way. Still got what you can only call light rain, and that's being very generous! The air ius much cooler and I have covered up my bare arms.

    Brue sounds like you're having a lovely time. Saw on the pointless page you're doing the Bristol harbour festival. Not heard of it, a bit too early for us to combine with the balloon festival, but I'll watch out for it next year. Are you doing it on a rally?

    Other way for me B2, dentist followed by haircut and shopping.  Now raining again so looks as though we may have to start cutting the lawn more frequently again.

    Hope you got all clear at the dentist Oneputt?  

    It started to rain properly, nice and steady, about 5.30 and is continuing. I hope by mentioning it it doesnt stop cos we are in dire need of some, been about 3 weeks since we had any! Yes I agree the grass will probably show its gratitude by shooting up 😉

    We're not on a rally for the festival, will be on Baltic Wharf. We did the big rally for the Balloons a couple of years ago, it was excellent as it is so close to the event. Are you on the Avon rally? I'm up in Bristol this weekend too seeing family, fund raising event with steel band. All go!smile

    We're on a rally but not this club. We've been before a stayed on a rugby club, was good. Decided to revisit and are much closer this time. Hope the weather better this time, there were only a couple of assents last time due to weather. But they were spectacular.
