Visited our son in MK,  he kindly offered to dog sit while we went to Ikea,  was very good and didn't spend too much. winklaughing

Nice lunch out sitting in the pub garden,  "his treat" .smile

Have been trying to sort through all the holiday photos, transferred from the camera. Don't remember taking that many! surprised

Posted a couple on the what have you seen thread, puffin and the swallow chicks.

Tammygirl Scotland does get some really lovely weather, we were on holiday there the year Andy Murray won his first Wimbledon,  it was really hot, although not as hot as at Wimbledon.

Do you have to pay the extra charge for a second car?

The key word here is some,  wink   we get the odd day here and there, rarely do we get weeks of sunny warm weather. As I said earlier folk come on holiday and have nice weather and think its like that all the time, its not.

We've been back 2 weeks in that time we've had more wet days than dry, the temps have been at least 10 to 15 degrees lower than the south of England. The heating has been on (evenings)more days than not. Even when we have had dry sunny days its been very windy and this is high summerfrown I love Scotland but I am awfully glad we can afford to go abroad for long trips.

Have to agree with you Tammyg. I can't remember the sort of weather in Scotland we're having in the south just now. Some lovely days but a long hot spell was rare. Still like going back though. smile

WhiskEy  --  surprised  Tammygirl,  really  I  am  appalled  -- I would  not  even  THINK    of  that stuff  and  Scotland  in the  same  room,  never  mind  the  same  post  !

Now  had  you  said  something like  Scapa,  or  Talisker  or  similar  then  that's  OK,  but  whiskEy  never  never  ever,  I'd  have  my  access  routes  blocked  by  some  Border  Reivers  with  claymores  and  pikes  sealed

Dry, sunny and warm here on the East Norfolk coast so off shortly to wash the van.  The forecast later this afternoon is for rain and thunder, will I be wasting my time?foot-in-mouth

Is that a perk of being on a seasonal pitch? Normal charge is £2 for an extra car.

I had to work later yesterday evening because another order came in just before it was time for me to clock off. So I finished 20 minutes later which will also mean 20 minutes more pay, yippee!

I must say Malcolm I am seriously impressed. Running two cars, one of which you are currently paying instalments on, site fees, caravan maintenance and insurance plus of course food cloths etc all for under £11,500  a year. The current personal allowance.

Glad you've enjoyed your break! We're off on a boat trip this afternoon, see a bit more of the Exe. The circus has arrived next to the rally site. Lots going on but they are the other side of a big hedge. Will be good to see the big top going up. Looks like a human performing group, no animals. My sister taught circus children early in her career in teaching. She enjoyed meeting them all. Nice warm weather, enjoy your day folks.

I wouldn't bother Steve, why someone wants to discuss their work and personal finances on an open forum is difficult to understand or believe.  undecided

Another lovely day here on Essex warm but not humid clouding over now - for the forecast storms? Doesn't feel like it sitting on the shade sewing 😉. Garden is despite for some rain 😢. Lovely weekend with son and we're now straight after our trip. Email received containing address and instructions for our next trip to Bristol Balloons,  exciting, so will consider whether to break the journey down and back and where. Some enjoyable time with maps and site reviews 😆.

Just eating sandwich lunch whilst I catch up on here before going to mums via M&S. Nice to catch up on other's days, whatever you're doing enjoy.

A breeze is now blowing up and the clouds thicken as I type so who knows what the weather will bring! Must finish off seam and pack up to prepare for going out.

Got away earlier than planned for our few days away. Drive down to Middlesbrough uneventful but rained all the way. Warmer down here though even with the showers we are still getting, forecast to dry up by teatime.

Currently watching Wimbledon, Murray of course. Sun just made an appearance smile

    Enjoy your boat trip Bruce.

We're back from our three day stay in Southport. Twelve (young) girls and eight husbands, celebrating 50 years of friendship. A wonderful time with wonderful company.

I haven't been back to Southport for over 40 years and found it much brasher and nosier. Or maybe that was just because it was a sunny weekend.

A friend made me a cake which went very well with the  numerous bottles of Fizz (English Sparkling Wine) we put away. College scarf on top and twelve names round the sides.

It was an almost technology free weekend, as we left the vital bag of chargers etc at home. But you don't need technology to sit on the hotel terrace in the sun drinking cocktails.

The beach at Crosby was standing room only! (I struggled to get a photo without any humans)

After a visit to the dentist for a 10,000 meal service, I stopped off at Southdown Motorhomes for a drool over a Carthago 138. I'm beginning to go off it though as they would appear to discourage all but the most basic of catering with a piddling little fridge and a two burner hob. Fitting an oven, I was assured, would be more bother than it's worth due to the water pipes behind the drawers that would be replaced. The OH isn't too keen given its height as well.

It might not be so easy when my seasonal pitch comes to an end in November and I have to start paying site fees again.  However, by that time, my hours of work and earnings may increase as there's usually more demand then.

This afternoon work rang me to ask if I could work this evening. I had to decline as we only have the Shogun here on site and also it would mean having to work a total of seven days without a break. Also we'll be moving back to Northbrook Farm tomorrow. So definitely need a rest today. Not the best of days to be moving with heavy rain forecast for tomorrow. Added to that,  I'm due back at work tomorrow evening to do a longer shift of five hours from 5 to 10 p.m.

Glad you have things booked Helen and Trevor.  We've got a 4 night gap at the moment and are looking for somewhere between Pembrokeshire and Leeds!  About half way is home, so we may very well come back for 4 nights!! 😂
